Sites are now $20 per night. No fishing or hiking nearby. But good place to stay if you are just passing through.

I stayed here 3 nights in early October, at 9000 feet it was quite cold at night, in the high teens. The campground is on the side of a hill and none of the campsites were level, I picked the highest site in the camp and had to use all my leveling blocks and a big chunk of rock to get level. Water is by hand pump but was off, the trash dumpster was still available as were the vault toilets. There was some minor trash around the camp but not terrible. The sites are well separated and being on a remote mountain road there was little noise though the road is regularly used. I had the entire camp to myself for the whole time I was there.
Surrounded by forest and forest roads there are lots of places to explore if you have a vehicle with reasonable clearance.
No phone service.
Bob Palin would stay here again
