Crowded sites with no room for outside activities. Only reason for us to come was to see the sights, fort, museum, lighthouse. WIFI was acceptable.

I planned to stay at River’s End for 10 days and ended up extending it to a month. The road signs are hard to see when you get on the island, so take it really slow. Arrival and check in was easy, and staff escorted me to the gravel lot. It wasn’t quite even, but not too terrible. It’s very wooded and shady in much of the park. I was there in December and January, so being able to refill propane on site was great. There’s a pool that looked nice, but was closed for the season.
The beach is a short walk away, but everything else is at least 15-20+ minutes on foot. Many campers had golf carts (there are rentals on the island) and I can see how they were useful. The laundry is small, but adequate. The showers are huge and clean, though they could use more places to put your stuff. Great heat and water pressure.
I have debated a dozen times if I should forego the rest of my trip and just go back to River’s End, if that tells you anything. It was just what I needed.

Wonderful campground! They have plenty of staff and are waiting on you when you drive in to help lead you to your camping site. We arrived, checked in and pulled in our site within 10 minutes. It was very easy and efficient. Friendly, very helpful staff. Family oriented, close to the beach (about 3 blocks) and clean!! They have two very good sized and clean dog parks, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. Just 15 minutes from Savannah. You can purchase tour tickets from the check in office. We had a great stay. I would definitely recommend this campground. We plan to return. One note: be sure and come in from around Savannah, not through it. Garmin will try to take you through Savannah.

Very clean and organized. Campsites are stacked on each other. Our neighbor’s fire ring was literally five feet from our RV. Thank goodness they didn’t have a fire while we were there. Lots of families with you f kids riding bikes and playing. Also lots of campers that were staying many days with stuff scattered all over their area.

On the negative side, its a bit noisy - mostly traffic noise from Polk & Fort Streets. That's not the park's fault. But it does detract from the comfort of the stay.

Spots are TIGHT with little privacy (not a lot of trees) but that was expected. Staff shows you to your spot upon arrival, which was nice! Washers and dryers work well and they have quarter machines.
As some previously mentioned, there were some sewage-y odors on a couple days...not sure from what as there isn’t a sewage plant nearby. It wasn’t horrible and wasn’t constant at all.
Would definitely stay here again!

Overall we enjoyed this campground.
Quick points:
- friendly and escort to site
- nice pool
- no playground
- gravel sites that are close together
- close to beach
When you arrive, they escort you to your site and are very friendly. They have firewood for sale that they will bring to your site. There is a store in the office, they have a nice pool, a laundry mat, and bath houses(Which we didn’t use so I’m not sure about the up keep in them). The campground is just a walk or bike ride to the beach. Coming from a family with 5 kids under 7, there’s not much for kids to do aside from the pool. Although we did end up finding a playground that was about a mile away and it was very nice—there is a trail around it, a baseball field, and was stroller accessible. The campground is on a side street that seems to stay busy, so if you get a front site just be aware of that. But even so, we didn’t notice a lot of noise from the cars. We stayed in two different sites while we were there, one on the side street at the front of the campground (pull through and decently level, gravel) and one in the back of the campground (back in, level and gravel). The site in the back of the campground was in a dead end that had what looks like a permanent resident or two. There are two dog parks next to this campground so if you have a dog, I’d say they are much welcomed. The only cons we have for this campground are that the sites are super close to each other and there is no playground (but like I said before, that’s not really a big deal with the playground that’s nearby)
