We made a reservation for a week. Their system asks for a preferred site. We did not pay the extra $20 to reserve that site. We were given a smaller site. The one we requested was vacant when we got there (along with others in the same area) vacant most of the week, vacant when we left. ( again, along with those other sites)

I used the new reservation system, only to find out that there was no way my RV was going to make it into the automatically generated assigned site. BUT the staff was super accommodating and found us a site that was a better fit for our RV size. The staff though, thought my husband or the male owner/manager might be able to drive my RV into the spot that was newly assigned to me. Really? Thank you, but no thanks. So, let us talk about the campground. Great location for the proximity to Santa Fe and interstate access. Interstate noise was minimal. The laundry room was great! The WIFI was great! Maybe it was because of the proximity to Santa Fe, but I thought the price for just electric and water was high. And campsites are stacked on top of one another. We were there after Labor Day, so maybe we were lucky that we did not have any other campers too close to us. A lot of the campsites looked washed out and not level. We did really like the number of trees they had in the campground; however, it was not so good for the maneuverability of our 35’, high profile fifth wheel. Height and width clearance was a challenge for us. The dump station was another challenge for a big rig. Again, not big-rig friendly. So, we by-passed the dump station and waited for our next stop to dump. Would I camp here again? Although the staff was outstanding, I cannot say I would stay here again because of the size of our RV. Just not big-rig friendly.

We stayed at Rancheros de Santa Fe RV Park by chance during the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, that is why the price is so high. Otherwise, the nightly rate was still over $55/site. Our site was very, very small and very unlevel. I would think for this price, even though it's a tourist area, the sites would be level. There was no way to use the fire pit and putting out the awning might have been a challenge. Also, the permanent rig next to us was jam-packed with "junk" that fell over into our site. Very disappointing.
On a positive note, the campground has pretty good wifi, a decent (older) laundry, and is quiet. Also, there are a lot of trees, with lots of birds, and the smell of pine is really nice.
It's a 20 minute drive into old town Santa Fe and there is so much to do. We enjoyed a cooking class at the Santa Fe Cooking School, a day trip to Chimayo and Madrid, as well as trying Margarita's on the Margarita Trail. A good restaurant, Harry's Roadhouse, is just down the road with great food and a fun atmosphere.

We picked this location because of the pool. The staff went out of their way to close the pool early. We called ahead of time to confirm pool was open. When ask if we could swim before departure next day due to not being able to swim, we were told no. Check out is the same time pool opens👎🏼

The staff here was very nice, even keeping the laundry room open late for us. The campground is clean but older. The major problem is that it's built into a hill and it's all gravel. Some of the campsites, although they have a level area, the entire length of the campsite isn't level. So the 5th wheel was level but the truck was facing extremely downhill making rehitching in the morning a challenge.
The location is great if you want to explore Santa Fe, or take any number of day trips in the area.

In general, everything is set up for the convenience of the operators and not the guests. That bothers me because it could have been great.
The laundry room is big and clean. But laundry has to be in by 5:00 pm because they want to close it at 7:00. They lock the door after 5:00 so no one starts a load afterwards, and afterwards you have to walk all the way around the store to get back inside. Don’t mess up and try to get your things after 7:00.
Also they close the bathrooms between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. I showed up at 11:30 with towel in hand, ready for an nice shower after too long without, and I was out of luck. Wish they told me on check in.
The sites were mixed, campground mostly empty, but they put us in a barren looking site at the end of the row instead of one in the middle area with more trees. You can’t pick your site ahead of time. The sites and roads are gravel. Each site has a perfectly measured level spot for your rig. But then our car was parked on a downhill.
Reviews say “great wifi” but not at our site. It was unusable.
8 miles from Santa Fe has its pluses and minuses. It was quiet at night and the drive was easy, but don’t forget anything back at the site when you leave for the day.
So would I stay here again? Maybe. There are not too many options near Santa Fe. But I would walk the grounds and pick a better site.

These people were couteous, had lots of local info on hand, their wi-fi service was one of the best I have experienced with multiple routers located around the grounds. The surfaces are dirt and some gravel, but my spot was level. I was parked away from others, it was quiet and no one bothered me.

It was far enough away from the city to allow for a countryside experience yet close enough to be convenient.

They do not clean their restrooms appropriately or adequately. I actually left a penny in the shower stall. Went back a few weeks later. The penny was unmoved.
The staff especially Phyllis and Tony lie to guests. Lie about guests. When I told Tony that I would be writing this review, he intentionally hung up on me. I called back and he told me that thus review was a threat. I have news for you Tony, it I not a threat. Your potential guests need to know exactly how you treat the disabled that utilize service canines and other means of reasonable accommodation for personal accessibility. Including recording my phone calls.
To any interested parties, I can provide you with the recorded phone calls Including the phone calls with law enforcement.
Currently I am waiting to hear back from Santa Fe Sheriff Department in regards to pursuing charges against Tony for lying to law enforcement.
