Mrs. Bryant was very helpful, attentive and knowledgeable about the wildlife and surrounding area. I did not like the fact that they only 2 full hook-ups. The firepits as well as the fire grills had not been cleaned. There was ants everywhere. The grass had been mowed but not weeded. The county has spent a lot of work on the lake, however the park is falling apart. One sink in the bathroom did not work at all. The first toliet in the womens stall ran constantly. There was people coming and going I hope fishing at all nights of the hour. The toliets were clean however the whole need thing needed a deep cleaning due to cob webs, dirt dobbers nest, etc. After each camper leaves the site should be cleaned and ant poison put out. You could have a tournament and give out trophy's for the littlest fish, biggest fish and most fish. First Place Awards does the engraving for free. You could also have some kind of fun day for the kids with bouncy houses and stuff. I was not pleased with our visit at all.
Sincerely,
Pennie Gilley

Sites are tight and undeveloped. Some are soft and ungraded so as to unsafe to attempt to drive in. Many permanent residents who are fishermen. The adjoining county park is quite nice.

A few days back we arrived at Pat Thomas park. I put it on my Campendium Heart list a long time ago as a place I would like to visit. The park looked very nice in the pictures and on google earth so I reserved site #5 right on the lake. Well it wasn't. We could get into site #5 but would not be able to get out. As I walked around the small campground I noticed several areas where they had 55 gallons drums for campers garbage that were overflowing, Site #4 & 5 had deep ruts and overall dis-repair. Needless to say we have wheels and always give ourselves enough time in the day to find an alternate. In our three years on the road this has happened about three times. We've learned to plan for a great stay but to be ready for the unexpected and keep moving forward. There is always a way out.

This park is located on a peninsular. Absolutely breath taking scenery. Dock built relatively recently and with a little power washing, stain, and water sealer would be gorgeous. Grounds need grooming badly. Bath houses need some attention and cleaning. Lighting fixtures around the park adequate but I need of repair. Personnel were extremely professional, friendly, and courteous. Spoke with the county parks person about the needs to make this a pristine park. She explained they just acquired it and are actively working together with other departments to get all issues corrected. She insured us when we returned we would see a dramatic improvement. I truly believe there will be it will be taken care of. It won’t take much to accomplish an A+ rating.

This is a nice county-run campground surrounded by lake on three sides. The sites are not very level but most are nicely shaded. Electric and water at the site with dump station at entrance. The bathroom facilities seemed to be maintained. Overall, it's a pretty location to camp near a lake at a bargain price.

I love this place. Especially for the price. Amazing views, very quiet and peaceful.
Great pull through spots and plenty of places to find wood for your campfire.
I would plan on using your rig for the bathroom and shower - they really aren’t maintained well.

Easy to find. Beautiful sites on Lake Talquin. Park also used for boat launches. If it had been warmer we would have stayed longer. Restrooms were ok and did have a shower. Sites had w/e, table, grill and fire ring. Some sites had a balcony/patio on the lake shore.

What a lovely spot! So gorgeous with the surrounding lake!
And what a peaceful campground, not busy, we were 5 at the most.
Few people came to land their boat. A bit more came to enjoy the park on weekend, but not too crowded.
Easily accessible. But be sure to get there before 7pm if you don't have the code for the gate as it closes by itself at that time. We almost had it closing just right infront of us while trying to understand how the payment was supposed to be made.
They have the envelope way of doing payments and you can do for more then a night. Actually, they also take reservations but don't make you pay for it in advance, just when you're on site.🤨
The bathhouses need a little refreshing, but correctly clean.
The camp host wasn't there, but there was a maintenance host.
