On the other hand, since there are no hookups there was only one other (tent) camper there and it was very quiet. (we were in a van) Not much view of the lake from the sites, but the lake is very pretty from the pier or boat launch. Some of the sites were a little bit trashy, but not too bad. The boat launch is away from the sites so it was not noisy even though it was well used. Would be a great place to bring the kayaks.
There is a three mile drive with speed bumps the first mile and dirt the last two, but it is level and well packed.
Pit toilet, but we did not use it.
You will most likely be almost or completely alone here at night, so keep in mind how comfortable you are with that.

We were one of four in camp spots. No hookups. One restroom with toilet and wash stand. Beautiful lake with pier and boat launch. Lovely sunset.

This campground has some real positives--secluded, next to a huge lake/forest, only a few miles from restaurants, supplies, Camping World, et al. However, we stayed for a weekend where it rained pretty much all day Friday and Saturday which cleared out the campground and made the 2.6 mile dirt/mud road to get there a bit dicey. Could have been worse--water covered almost half the road in one spot but receded quickly after it stopped raining. Without the rain, it would make for a nice, relaxing stay, but heed the warning about no potable water in the campground (or electricity or dumpsite).

There are half dressed men with cracks showing, people seemingly living in their sites…. It’s great if that’s what you’re into. We left early from an eight day reservation. Not our style. We paid for Solar so we would be considerate neighbors.
This park is horrible. Don’t come here unless you’re desperate or trashy.

The lake is largely obscured from the campsites due to trees along the bank, but you can still sneak a peek. Or just go down to the boat ramp or nice fishing pier. Getting here - once turned off of Hwy 268 it's 1 mile on Peters Road (paved but with at least 6 speed bumps) through a residential neighborhood. The paved road ends and becomes red dirt/clay. It is wide and in fairly good shape but there are deep ditches on either side so be careful because it is slippery when wet. The campground is primitive with a vault near the entrance, tables, and fire pits/grills. If there are more than 6-12 sites occupied, it might seem tight, particularly if you have a neighbor. The 3-sided RR ties limit where you can park to some degree but there is still room to move about. It was empty this rainy day so even though site 17 out one window and 19 out the other, there was plenty of room to spread out. I usually use my ATT NighthAwk (31 down/5 up last night) but the T-Mobile 5G signal was good enough to usually get at least 100 down and 5-10 up, so I'm using the T-Mobile phone hotspot.

There is a bathroom, but nothing else. No dumpster or water.

No one mentioned that the neighborhoods driving into the campground are pretty rough. There are no dumpsters or trash cans. Pack it in and pack it out. There are a couple pit toilets but we didn’t check it out. Didn’t see any water access either. We are way too big for this area so we just came and went right back out.

Nice place for the price. We stayed in our 32' camper arriving the weekend before Thanksgiving 2018. There were a few folks camping on the weekends and a straggler here and there throughout the weeks. Some nights can be a bit busier with the fishing pier and boat ramp but it's still quiet.
We were there right after hurricane Micheal so firewood was plentiful. Coming and going from the park requires passing over 6-9 speed humps which can get tiring every time you want to go somewhere.
Rural, rustic, lake, fishing, kayaking, forest and wildlife. Saw 3 Bald Eagles at the same time, hawks, Blue Heron, gators, Egrets, Hooter owls were close by. It was very relaxing for us and once past the speed bumps, easy access to stores and such.
I love that Wakulla Springs was less than a hour away. I enjoyed seeing the manatees again.
Cellular service worked for us there too, which is always a bonus for us full time boondockers.
