I got into Powell when it was 105 degrees out. I needed a place with electric hookups so I could run the air conditioner. The fairgrounds had a few openings on a Sunday afternoon all with full hookups. Spaces were close together. Once I got the air conditioner going, I located the office where there was a notice saying to pay at the cylinder block building. I fill out the slip intending to leave on Saturday and deposited the envelope in the box.
I was backed up to a busy street that did quiet down at night. The afternoon sun shone on the front Windows. I would recommend the north end that had more grass and trees and was quieter but had already set up and paid.
There are showers but didn’t seem maintained. Three showers but only two curtains. I didn’t use. Huge dumpsters for trash but had to throw high in the air to make it in.
Water hookups are in the ground. I had to be on hands and knees and move dirt aside to hook up my water.
I was there in July and quite a few days were over 100 degrees. I heard my ac struggle a few times one day praying the electric would hold in there. It did.
Good T Mobile 5G signal which I worked off. Verizon Ok.
Thursday evening, a man knocked on the door asking what time I was leaving Friday morning. I told him I was there until Saturday. He said No, he had my spot reserved for Friday and that he was participating in the fair which was starting next week. I told him this was the first I heard. Went to the office Friday morning saying I paid through Friday night. Office said you need to be out today. No notes were posted to let anyone know. No one from the fairgrounds had come by to tell me. The lady had me write a new check for 5 nights and gave me a discount on top of that for my inconvenience. She said there had been a change in management.
Very dusty and site is all dirt. I wouldn’t stay here again.
