Having read all the reviews, we weren't certain what we would find. Having spent three nights here, i would say thank you Lovell, you do yourselves proud. Yes, there is noise from a seldom used railline. A constantly running generator from a trailer not staying in the campground, and campers generators as there is no solar availabilit... more
Having read all the reviews, we weren't certain what we would find. Having spent three nights here, i would say thank you Lovell, you do yourselves proud.
Yes, there is noise from a seldom used railline. A constantly running generator from a trailer not staying in the campground, and campers generators as there is no solar availability due to the trees, but no more than any other location.
The facilities are very clean, the sites are long and well spaced, and a dump station as well.
There is a donation box which should be added to in order to keep this little campground viable.

This very well maintained FREE campground is a real gem. Well laid out sites that are designed for easy access once you figure out the system. Very nice restroom facilities including a shower. This very well maintained FREE campground is a real gem. Well laid out sites that are designed for easy access once you figure out the system. Very nice restroom facilities including a shower. Dump station and fresh water are available here also.
It is located in a residential neighborhood, so you can expect the usual noise that is part of small town daily life. It is not a resort. It is a very thoughtful and generous service offered to weary travelers who want a safe and convenient place to spend the night.

The only thing this place has going for it is showers with hot water, that's why I gave it two stars. Noisy neighborhood with dogs barking all night long, next to the train tracks and city service facilities. No one picked up after their dogs, so watch where you step. The city has an odd odor to it as well. Would not stay here again.

Thank you to city of Lovell for such a nice free campground. Nice shade. Very clean grounds and shower house. Dump and water available, although we didn’t use it. Gave it 4 stars only because there was no electricity; but we did fine without. It was mostly quiet but at times the permanent neighbor’s dogs were quite “vocal”.

Nice place! Campground / bathrooms/ showers / dump / rinse / fresh water all OPEN. RV and tent areas are OPEN.
I had no issues fitting my 53 foot rig in any of this locations 5 pull threw
I would stay again.
4 blocks from 14a on the east side of Lovell, WY.

The city of Lovell has done a remarkable job here, no-cost RV and tent camping in a well shaded park, with restrooms and showers, all cleaned nightly. Tent costs can enjoy a covered area with tables, and free water and a dump station are at your disposal. Only the lack of electricity prevents this from being a solid five stars, but... more
The city of Lovell has done a remarkable job here, no-cost RV and tent camping in a well shaded park, with restrooms and showers, all cleaned nightly. Tent costs can enjoy a covered area with tables, and free water and a dump station are at your disposal.
Only the lack of electricity prevents this from being a solid five stars, but then it wouldn't be "free" would it.
There is a donation box, and after staying here for three days, I'd be a real smuck if I didn't throw in a twenty, which I did.

We love to stay in small town parks and it is a bonus when they offer free water and dump station! We asked at the visitor center about the "closed' sign posted at the park and were told that the sign was for the bathrooms, which have been closed because of Covid19. Our stay was quiet and uneventful.

Checked the official site before coming and no mention of being closed for the winter. Two fences blocking it off and closed sign. This was on 11/14. Bummer
