“It’s A Nice Spot That Needs A Little Work”

We stayed here for its proximity to Pictured Rocks. It was also connected to a spiderweb of two track trails that I could jog on. The sites were normal for any private campground. The shower doors had no lock at all and that was weird. Most people hung towels on the door to let you know, but that wouldn’t stop a little kid from pushing open the door and this place, through no fault of the campground itself, had a ton of loud and unsupervised kids. A simple hook and eye closure fixes this.
Our initial site was badly unlevel, to the point that our leveling blocks couldn’t even touch the slope. It would probably be fine if you had a travel trailer and could rest the tongue on the ground. The owner was very nice and moved us to another site that was empty. It was more level and we should have been able to level it with blocks but the site was very soft beach sand so even putting the silicon mat down didn’t prevent sinkage. Neighbors on both sides were also not able to get their motorhomes level. It was a funny topic of conversation. A little gravel and a days worth of time with a tractor fixes all the unlevel sites(most of them were not close to level). Unfortunately we won’t stay here again because of these issues. It may be great for you if you have a travel trailer. The dump station worked as it should. Freshwater tasted good. The camp store was a notch above what we usually see with a great selection of treats, gifts, and useful RV parts/supplies that a traveler may need.

“Sites too close and flooded during rain”

We had good showers here. The wifi at the office (you need to sit on the outside bench) was serviceable, but that was your only connectivity. The tents nearby were almost literally washed away when it rained, but we were okay inside the RV. Good staging point to visit the PICTURED ROCKS boat tour, and a lifetime required type of event.
