This park was a great spot for White Sands NP. The host have sleds to borrow for sliding down the dunes in the park. Walmart and the park charge $20. The showers are clean and well maintained. The sunsets are amazing.

Really great place! Excellent Verizon signal. Great enough for numerous work video calls. The sunsets here are amazing and it's really peaceful and dark at night.
Would absolutely stay here again.

Scenic (mountains on 3 sides), quiet, well-spaced and level camp sites (always bring leveling blocks just in case), spotless showers and flush toilets (called the Comfort Station), friendly and helpful hosts and Park Manager, and two great trails (1/2 mile easy Riparian Nature Trail; 11 mile round trip with 3,000 ft elevation gain strenuous Dog Canyon Trail - remember 666 for Dog Canyon hike - start at 6 am, take at least 6 bottles of water, and allow 6 hours. Not sure what previous reviewer (early August 2021) was talking about. Our 5th Wheel RV leveled fine and camp hosts were busy all day cleaning bathrooms, picking up garbage and microtrash, and greeting all campers with a smile. Hosts (1 couple for 42 sites) are off 2 days a week and maybe last reviewer got them on their day off. The sunset over White Sands National Park was spectacular (mere 45 min drive East) and the sunrise in Dog Canyon takes your breath away. Note, campfires are allowed and hosts sell firewood to benefit Friends of Dog Canyon (OLSP support group). Also, water from numerous water hydrants is potable and quite tasty. This park is a Gem and a must-go-to if y'all are in Southern New Mexico.

I was not expecting much from this campground. We booked it for Whites Sands. OMG it is breathtaking! Very nice, clean level sites. They have 17 sites with water and power! Its a must add to your list to stay campgrounds!

We are still currently camping here, but I wanted to clear some things up from other reviews. #1 is that the camp host wants everyone to know the showers are indeed open now. This place is an absolute find, and right at the foothills of the mountains (and has a trailhead directly off the park). I am from Michigan and my favorite season is winter, but I don't find the heat and sun unbearable here, even though there isn't much shade.
I'm also very confused about reviewers saying it is loud, as we have had the complete opposite experience. Spots are fairly level, bathrooms and a shower, and a very friendly camp host. Even though our water pump went out on the drive here, we have made the most of it and we would definitely come back here!

Amazing Views. Spacious tiered spots with power and water. Quiet and well maintained. Quite hot but the sunsets and breeze at night are well worth it. Can see white sands national park in the distance.
