Proceeded to this location based on reviews…but on arrival quickly figured out, with help from a group that was already there, this is a popular OHV camping location. All the campsites in the area to the left as you come into the road are basically in the same “bowl”…which means music and noise easily echo throughout the area. I was not there to party or use an OHV or power toy, so after checking out Bloget/Homestead Road camping area down the road, I packed up and moved on.

“Camping in a beautiful mountain valley”

No Name Road is off highway 24 between Red Cliff and Tennessee Pass. The entire valley holding this highway has beautiful rock formations, a meandering Creek and recreation. The area has many hiking trails and the forest roads are used for mountain biking and OHV riding. In the winter the area is the stepping point for skiing and snowmobiling at Shrine Pass.
The small town of Red Cliff is not far from the sites and is worth a visit, as is the slightly further town of Minturn. These towns have coffee shops and yoga studios, a drive in movie theater, in addition to restaurants. Stopping to see Eagle Bridge or the Gilman Ghost Town is a favorite activity as well.
No Name Road itself is very well maintained and looked to be recently re-graded. Within 500 feet of the entrance is a large spur to the left. This area is suitable for any size rig as there is ample turn around space
There are about 6 distinct sunny sites in this area. The road on the spur is not as well maintained so please scout before driving. This portion of the road had no Verizon coverage. This area did have some road noise from the highway.
The road is two lanes until you pass the gate. At this point it narrows and while a RV can drive it, the sides may occasionally hit a tree branch. There are numerous turn outs for passing. At the gate we had 1 bar of Verizon 4G.
As you wind up the road you will find two more sites. One site has a commanding view of the valley. It is suitable for a smaller trailer due to limited turn around but well worth the drive if you can make it. This site had 2 bars of Verizon 4G.
