We had a very good time at mountaineer campground. I had accidentally booked my reservation for the wrong week and didn’t notice until I got there. The staff was very helpful and was able to fix our reservation and got us into a campsite. They do have WiFi. Their showers were exceptionally clean and the River access was a nice place to relax. They have a pool and a playground also but we did not use them. I would recommend this campground!

The staff was extremely helpful and kind. We had trouble attaching our water hose, and the host offered us another washer and then connected the hose himself!
Cell service and Wifi were good.
The bathhouse was old but clean. I did have trouble regulating the shower temperature and consequently ended up taking a cold shower.

Reasonable. Discounts for good Sam and veterans. They even made a free breakfast on a Saturday.
Would definitely stay there again.

Mountaineer is a nice little campground right outside Smoky Mountains National Park, it is one of the more reasonably priced in this area, mainly due to the lack of high-end amenities which we wouldn't have used anyway (it does have a pool). Sites are pretty tight, LOTS of big trees in and around sites, and 50-amp spots are limited, but the spots right on Little River are wonderful. All sites are tree shaded so satellite TV probably ain't happening, but that's not what you came for is it? It is extremely convenient to the park and also back into Maryville to groceries and stores and whatnot, so I feel like it is a pretty good deal if you are here for the National Park.
