County park with a lot of nice sites. Bathrooms clean, park staff pleasant, lots of walking around the park and it's a dark sky! We saw the beautiful night sky and were not disappointed. We camped in a class B. Weekends a bit noisy.

Beautiful park! Nice flat large sites with great wooded space around them. Our site is out of the main campground across from a large meadow. The sky at night is out of this world! Beautiful trails and grounds. Nice shower house with vaults nicely placed throughout the grounds. We will be making this a regular place on our list.

We stayed here mid-week in September, 2021 for one night - we did not have reservations and there were only a handful of sites taken. The host found it easier to mark off the unavailable sites instead of the available sites! All of the sites are long and could really fit just about any sized RV. Nice greenery between the sites. Cool little pond. T-mobile only worked by the pond, not really in our site. Our site did have a bright light shining towards our trailer - if I would have noticed that earlier, I would have picked a different site, as this is a dark sky park. Nice place though!

They do have a bureaucratic problem. We came in on the Thursday before Memorial Day intending to stay one night. The host told us that they were full. Then he said he could work us in since it was only for 1 night. It seems that reservations for the weekend precludes others from using the sites. On Thursday night no more than 30% of the sites were actually occupied.
Cell phone coverage was sporadic with data service doubtful.

This place is awesome. It does get a little buggy in the nighttime. Plenty of shade and room on each site. Pads are gravel and very flat. Check in is at the host camper. Easy to drive through and not very busy during the week. Very quiet and serene.

A gorgeous and well maintained campground around a little swimming lake just north of Champaign. Huge private feeling and wooded sites surrounded by wildflowers, and over 7 miles of hiking trails.
We were so surprised this campground wasn't more visible, it wasn't even listed on Campendium yet. They have electric and non-electric sites, and rates vary by weekend, holiday or weekday (our $14/night was for a weekday electric site). Open only seasonal, so check their website before arriving.
They have two dump stations on the way out. Only ding we had for it was the only water fill up station was a spigot located on the one-lane main entrance into the campground. Anyone stopped there to fill up would block traffic, making it a bit awkward. So recommend coming in with fresh tanks already filled.
Cellular signals for Verizon and AT&T were both a bit on the weak side, but completely usable when boosted.
What a delightful stay!
