PROS
Able to reserve via Reserve America 135 days prior to arriving
Park staff very friendly and helpful
Entry code for toilet/shower house
Gravel site surrounded by grass
Aluminum picnic table on concret slab
Metal fire pit with cooking grate
Follow directions to park from their website as GPS misdirected
Coin-operated laundromat in toilet/shower building
This is the mobile home park of the decommissioned Chanute Air Force Base repurposed as a campground and operated by the City of Rantoul, so where a mobile home was, it is now a campsite. Streets, sidewalks, curbs and street parking areas still exists. Because of that, all sites are pull-thrus from the perimeter road.
CONS
No senior discount
$3.50 reservation fee for self made online reservation
Rain saturated ground prohibited site pull in. Had to back up over a steep street curb into a non angled site. Unable to get into originally selected campsite due to insufficient room to back into site, so moved to Site #13.
Street lights throughout campground
WiFi available but wasn’t given log on password upon check in and office had closed for the day once we realized we didn’t get the log on password

Since we were just staying one night, didn't use any levelers. The town of Rantoul is also pretty quiet, not a lot of activity for a Saturday. Go check out the decommissioned Air Force Base while you're here. All the buildings and hangers are in tact, albeit a bit dilapidated.

Nice campground with full hookups. Thought the site was a back-in, but a guy from the office led us around the back side with a 4-wheeler and it became a pull-through. T-Mobile 4GLTE showed 4 bars, but couldn't get any data. The park Wifi worked okay. No noise on a Saturday night.

Small quiet campground in a grove of trees along farmland on the edge of town. Staff were warm helpful and friendly. A very pleasant one night stay.

No where did it say ‘no trailers’ but the first thing we were told is that the city doesn’t allow a tow behind trailer separate from your RV. They want you to park your trailer in an unsecured side street a block or 2 away, which is not acceptable to us since that where our gear is stored… but he said since we were only staying 2 night... more

WiFi is really weak but available
They have laundry facilities 1.25 to wash and 1.00 to dry

Cute little campground in the middle of farmland with nicely spaced spots and established trees. Ours wasn’t paved but level. The kids loved being right next to the playground. Also pretty close to a Walmart in town. Had to drive on some county roads to get there but they were paved and not too bad. Worth the little jaunt from the highway. Nice crowd there. Pretty good cell service.
