“Beautiful and quiet, but you need high clearance to get in here”

As of mid-June 2023, the short road into this area is heavily rutted. Take it slow and you'll be OK, but I recommend a high clearance vehicle. If you have a trailer, do not try to get to the site by the gate. There's no place to turn around. If the two sites nearest the main road are taken, move on to one of the Manhattan sites a little further down road #69.
While this area is officially dispersed camping, there's really only room for 3, maybe 4 sites. The one where I camped was down by the gate and there's not much room between the trees to get to the fire pit. My rig got in OK with only light brushing of the camper. As a bonus to this site, it's sitting on top of a mine (literally)! The entrance has been filled in, but there's a claim sheet on a tree right next to it showing it was staked in 2016. For some added theater, a thunder storm rolled through the evening I arrived and it was amazing. Elevation is 9200ft.
Last note: Road #69 between country road #14 and Goodell Corner goes through a recent burn and it's being actively rehabilitated. Large machinery (graders, dump trucks, etc.) are on this road and it's not very wide in spots, so be very careful approaching and rounding some of the blind corners. The guys working up there are awesome and as careful as they can be, but be on the lookout.
FlyFish would stay here again
