Great clean laundromat just down the road, lots of wonderful restaurants in Pierre and Fort Pierre (shout out to Mad Mary’s Saloon!) Great drive to the Oahe Dam with lots of history markers to stop and read along the way. Yes there were flies but not a big deal, there are bugs at a lot of stops! We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful campground, clean bathrooms, however there were a lot of flies. Everything was so very clean so I don't understand why. We did enjoy our stay and would stay here again.

Very dirt and unkept. Planned on staying multiple night but after 1 we left and will not return. Very few options for quality RV campgrounds in Pierre.. very disappointed in the overall location and lack of RV options.

Very nice campground. Beach, playground, fishing and kayaking. There is also a bike/walking trail. Dump station. Roomy sites with electric power only. A few small cabin rentals. State Park entrance fee required $8. Close to town.

Very nice state park that's taken care of well. We enjoyed the site. We are steps away from the water, playground, and beach. The bathrooms and showers are really clean and large for our family of 4. Site is pretty level and raised on gravel. Nice bike trails and fishing opportunities. We stayed from Sunday thru Wednesday and it wasn't busy at all. We only had one neighbor and they were rarely there. Water was nice and cold to cool off but the wind was insane. We couldn't put our awning out and our outdoor rug almost flew away. We hear that this is somewhat typical of the area but didn't know. We also really enjoyed being so close to downtown to tour the Capitol building and some other touristy things.
We'd definitely stay here again.

Farm Island SRA is located near a number of attractions (Capital building, Cultural Heritage Center, State Library) which was our reason for choosing it.
Our pad, in the Main (West) CG, was right on the banks of the river (see photo). Although it is not the main channel of the "Muddy Mo" its level nonetheless rises and falls depending on the release of water from the upstream Ohahe Dam. While we were there, the water level gradually rose about a foot during the day, flooding a small low area between our site and the next one, only to fall again overnight.
North of the RV campground you can find the Visitor Center. It is located at the center of a plot that was Old Fort Sully 1863-1866. Only granite markers remain from the fort, but the visitor center contains exhibits and artifacts from the period. It is within walking distance of the campground.

We stayed here to visit the state capital. It was near the end of tourist season, and the weather was starting to get chilly. Thus, our campsite was not crowded at all, with the exception of a couple people who say there long term. Everything worked fantastic. We did not utilize the shower facilities in the next lot over, so we have no review on that, but would say that it's worth it to stay in the further lot with a vault toilet. Nice, quite and peaceful! Our dog Sydney loved walking the island, but would say bring some bug spray.
