We arrived March 5th, 2018 and it overall it was an amazing stay. We were told the weekend would be busier as it was the start of Spring Break and we did experience some "disregard of personal space" from a couple of locals as well as one really disrespectful couple who showed up late on Saturday, set up bright light, a noisy generator and blasted loud music while "fishing" from their lawn chairs for a few hours. After they had a fire fueled by their leftover generator gas and leaving their trash behind they were gone.
The rest of the time it was a very nice spot to visit and being able to camp on the beach, shower when needed and travel around the area makes this space a great stop. If you're there for awhile be sure to find the Triple M Critter Corral and visit Annette and all her cuddly fur friends, including kangaroos, goats, coatimundis and antelope. A star off for the disrespect of a local texan and his GF (who can't sing regardless of what she thinks) ;)

Pros:
If you like to sleep with the sound of the waves this is it! You parked 15’ from the shore :)
And it is FREE
The access to the beach it’s very easy, you drive in and select your spot.
There are free bathrooms and hot water showers (only 2 of the 4 were available)
Although there were several RV’s we managed to find a nice spot, it didn’t feel crowded
The beach is clean.
Very peaceful and quiet at night (except for the waves)
Beautiful sunsets and sunrises
Big RV friendly
Cons:
The bathrooms and showers are not very clean
Garbage pickup is minimal. All the garbage bins were full during our stay
It is not very private or isolated, expect locals hanging around fishing and swimming. There is a lot of traffic during the day.
The beach is not too long, it’s about 1.5 miles long
We enjoyed our stay although the weather was mostly cloudy and very windy.
We stayed here in a Class B MH

We boondocked here for 7 days in February 2018. Our RV was parked 15' from the water! Very nice clean beach. Bathrooms and showers available. When we were there only one of four showers were unlocked and the one that was open looked well used but not horrible. The area was hit directly by Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and still showed some signs of the destruction. The beach is firmly packed crushed shell and we had no problem driving on the beach with our rig and also saw many large Class A Motorhomes parked near us. There is a small general store @ 5 minutes away that sold fuel and jiffy store type items, other than that we found the closest town to be Port Lavaca 20-25 minutes way. We bought propane at the Ace Hardware in Port Lavaca, while not the cheapest we ever bought, it was the cheapest we could find. There appear to be no real restrictions as far as we could tell. We had talked to some other RVers that had been there since November. Generators were in use during daylight hours, but we never heard any past dark. Although this is definitely not your "resort style" beach, we found it very quiet, clean and relaxing. We had 2 bars of Verizon LTE which made it a little hard to work, but with a cell booster, you should be fine.

We found this location because it is the featured location on Campendium's Home page! The GIS coordinates were right on. Just pull up and park anywhere you want. There were cabanas for picnicking. Restroom and showerhouse with hot water. Wonderful experience. Great neighbors. There is a little fishing marina on down the road where we ate shrimp po' boy sandwiches on Saturday night. There was live music there and the locals were in a fishing tournament. The only problem was the dense fog that would descend at dusk and lift mid morning every day. This is actually on the bay and not the ocean so we did not have pounding waves. It was totally peaceful and quiet. The only waves would come when large boats created a wake. Our dog was in heaven!

The beach is compacted sand and crushed shell, probably deposited over rip-rap to make it stable. But, it’s perfect for parking a rig on. Bathrooms are clean, though there was always one idiot for thought it was his personal smoking room.
You’re off the beaten path here, so make sure you are good with provisions. The other campers are mostly enjoyable, though there are a few folks worthy of keeping an eye on- typical of boondocking and not a big deal.

We would stay here again! BEWARE - there is a bridge that has a max load limit of 10,000 lbs. This didn't stop a lot of other rigs, but with hefty fines and the potential to ruin your rig, think twice before you drive over it. There's awesome camping on either side of the bridge, so nothing to worry about!

We loved this place!! Camping 10 feet from the beach for free!
-The access getting to the beach is great even for big rigs. The beach is hard pack which makes it great to drive on
-There are plenty of garbage cans along the beach that seemed to be emptied often
-Bathrooms were pretty clean and re-stocked with toilet paper on Tuesdays (we think)
-There is a shower (bring your flip flops) it is not that clean on the floor but the actual shower was fantastic. Warm water and lots of pressure
-Plenty of room along the beach for lots of rigs to have thee own space
-Beach was very clean with no garbage laying around
-No drinking water but you can get some from local campgrounds or go into Port Lavaca. Its about a 20 minute drive.
-We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back. We were only planning on a one night stay and it turned into a lot more!

We were here in mid October and were a little worried since Hurricane Harvey passed through this area in late August -- but we arrived to a clean, open beach with very little evidence of the storm.
The sand is pretty hard-packed and we had no problem driving on it, although it does get softer the closer you get towards the water.
We ended up getting fresh water at an rv park that was probably 10 miles away, since the closer rv park that allows this was still closed from the hurricane.
There were a couple different entrances to the beach and we missed our turn since we arrived in the dark, but you can definitely turn in at the restroom which is probably only a 1/4 mile or so beyond these GPS coordinates. After entering at the restroom driveway, we headed to the left up the beach. I think there are options to the right as well but we didn't ever explore that way.
During our stay we had hot, very humid weather, and pretty bad mosquitos at night, but after a big thunderstorm the humidity cleared out and bugs weren't an issue during the day.
The thunderstorm that came through only lasted about 30 minutes but came in in a hurry and our awning was out...we needed the help of a neighbor to get it rolled back in, it nearly ripped off. The waves also got a lot bigger and the water came in further during the storm.
This is a long beach with plenty of space but it did fill in a bit on the weekend with people fishing and tent camping. There were about 7 or 8 other big rigs there when we arrived. We parked nose towards the water and that was what everyone else did. This also is a nice way to make sure there is plenty of room for others who want to camp.
We did see a number of jellyfish in the water. We also saw dolphins, flying fish, pelicans and other sea birds. We had beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
The hardest part was sweeping the floors several times/day because of all the sand we kept tracking in!
We didn't see any signs about no dogs on the beach and saw several others campers with their dogs as well. Great great spot.
