Could hear all the neighbors as there is hardly any separation between. The site was level, grass/dirt. Verizon 2 bars so used the WeBoost. This is a HUGE park with hundreds of sites squished in. Anything near the water runs in the $100+ a night range. Walkable park as there are many roads. Close enough to Mackinaw City to go in a sightsee a little. I wouldn't stay here again just because I'm not big on the tiny sites and crowds but I know many here don't seem to mind.

This place is WAY overpriced but is extremely convenient; and that was the draw. The whole place is a tourist trap, but if you are going to camp and see the island, you bite the bullet. We considered it one and done, checked it off the list. Everything is over-rated on the island, and yes, we paid to get inside the Grand Hotel. I would be afraid to add up how much we spent in these 3 days here. This campground is HUGE, so if you are going to drive around, KEEP YOUR DIRECTIONS TO YOUR SITE IN YOUR VEHICLE. The pictures make it look like you are right on the lake/water, but unless you are camping at one of these sites, you aren't. AND if you think you are going to take your chairs and sit on the water's edge, you can't park there. This place is over-rated, they know it, and they use it to their advantage. BUT they are nice. We didn't use their pool or bath houses/laundry but did go to their store to purchase tickets for the ferry. A guy there gave us great information of what to do/see on the island. We did go to the fort in Mackinac City (not on the island), and it surpassed our expectations. Do not eat at the BBQ place. We are glad that we did it, but we won't do it again.

Biggest issue was the septic pipe was an old pipe that wouldn’t allow me to screw into the respectable (neighbor had to put foot on it while I drained the tanks). Upside, beautiful beach overlooking the island and bridge. Lots of kids and bikes having fun so this would be a great place for families, not so much for a couple of old heads…

We loved our stay over the 4th of July! The campground is well run. Lots of friendly staff to help when needed. Our site was 190 and practically on the Sandy beach and perfect for us and our kiddos. We’ve got a class C and sacrificed full hook ups to be close to the beach. It’s in a quiet cove area with calm water that was knee high quite a ways out. The beach on the other side is nice too, but it’s more rocky and less calm water. The water was much warmer than I expected.
We watched fireworks from the beach and could see them going off from 4 different towns. Really neat.
We also used the pool, and the camp store had quite a bit of stuff decently priced. And they have food trucks that come most nights. The free ferry shuttle has 2 different pick up spots at the campground, and it will also transport your bikes if you bring your own.
We spent 1 day on Mackinac Island and that was a good amount of time for us to be there. The island is dog friendly FYI.
We went to the lumber Jack show and it was cute and the kids liked it. We rode our bikes - it’s about 2 miles from the campground on the same road.
Overall a fantastic experience and will definitely stay here again the next time we visit the area!

Made a great base for a visit to Mackinaw City and a trip over the bridge to St. Ignace in our car. Easy access, decent Verizon connection, would have to have put our Starlink on the pole to get service, but decided not to bother.
When we heard the nightly price we asked what the catch was. After we paid, the campground employee told us it's still midge season, and that the waterside sites are swarming. Very true, as we found out when we walked to the lake. Our site was further away, and while they were still fairly heavy, the swarms were nothing like they were lakeside. All of Mackinaw City was inundated, so any other campground would have had them, too. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

We had an extra large site that we couldn't really take advantage of due to the weather. Other sites appeared to be pretty small, especially those with lake views. Staff here was super friendly and helpful. Showers and bathroom facilities were clean. We were here in late September, so the campground was only about 30% full.

The lake view spots look crowded, but we were in the 50-amp, full hookup sites that are just a short walk to the lakeshore. The kids had TONS of fun - they played mini-golf, enjoyed the playground, and they played wiffle ball in the big open lawn that was behind our campsite. Staff was so friendly. Our site was level and hook-ups were easy to reach. We were NOT eating dinner beside our neighbors’s sewer line like at so many places. Fire pits made the cool nights perfect for outdoor family time. Camp store was great and well supplied. We were lucky enough to see fireworks from the city on Tuesday night! Love this place and hope to comeback.

This is one of my new favorite campgrounds. It has a great family-friendly feel to it. Lots of kids and families enjoying spending time together which I love to see. We had an extra-large RV site. It was not near the lake, but it was an easy walk to the lake. The lake area is beautiful with lots of nice porch swings, and plenty of trees where you can hang up a hammock and relax. On Tuesday and Friday nights we could watch the Mackinaw City fireworks from the beach. The staff were all nice and friendly and I appreciated that they allowed me to have a package delivered there. Since I travel fulltime I sometimes need to find a hair salon. I found a good one in Cheboygan called Lavish Salon (about 15 minutes away). It was nice to have a shuttle to the ferry on the day we wanted to visit Mackinac Island. We also visited Whitefish Point, Tahquamenon Falls and Soo Locks from here. I work remotely so cell coverage is important to me. If that matters to you, here are the details: AT&T 11.5 dl/11.0 ul; T-Mobile 35.2 dl/2.10 ul; Verizon 21.8 dl/4.10 ul. Park WiFi worked okay depending on where you are in the park, and the park is very large. We loved this park and hope to come back again someday.

What was bad were the midges. They are horrible this time of year and made it unbearable to be outside. If you had a site more inland then it wasn’t too bad. The other reason why I’m not giving it 5 stars is the site maintenance. Would have been nice to mow the grass and not walk around in 6” high grass.
