Pros are a very pleasant check-in, a well-stocked front office/convenience store, a clean flat campsite, a clean laundry, and great Wifi. Though we didn’t use them, they also had regular and e-bikes for rent, and a really nice pool and playground that attracted lots of children. Also, there’s a short trail leading into town so you needn’t face the parking situation there if you are in a motor home. It’s good exercise, too!
The only cons are minor car noise from the county road bounding the property, and all gravel roads and pads (a bit muddy on the day we arrived because of recent rains). There is no noise from the interstate.

We chose to shower the second night in our camper van. A free shuttle van can take you from the KOA to the Mackinac Island ferry (discounted ferry tickets) and will pick you up and return you pretty much on the hour. We had a great time and were so thankful we didn’t visit a few weeks later during peak season(!).

We enjoyed this KOA, but could not choose our site ahead of time. Nice wooded lots, friendly staff, and good laundry facilities, but the bathrooms were often overused and needed cleaning. Great bike path to town and ferry. Buy your ferry tickets at the office and the ferry will pick you up for free! Nice camp store on site as well.

This is a lovely, shaded campground on the edge of town. We had a narrow, mostly level, dirt site, with 50 amp FHUs. Everything worked well and was easy to access. Like most KOAs the signage to and inside the park is great. Interior roads are dirt but easy to navigate in the largest rigs. Swimming pool, playground, showers and restrooms. Rental bikes and shuttle to Shelbys Ferry for Mackinac Island. No satellite access but they do have cable. Some sites have concrete patios and furniture. All have picnic table and fire ring (although the sites are really too close for having a fire without smoking out your neighbor). The park WiFi was fast and consistent (we never stream when on park wifi).
The owners and staff are wonderful here, before and during check-in, as well as throughout your stay. Where else do you get a text that the store is closing in 30 minutes and do you need ice or firewood delivered? So it's really a bummer that while we were here it was sooooo noisy! A dozen motorcycles who were in and out and in and out all day and up to quiet time. Kids screaming at the top of their lungs (and I love that kids are getting outdoors and having a good time). But every night at 9:55 the switch was flipped and it was completely quiet all night (no road noise, no trains, etc)!
We'd stay here again.

We have a handful of KOA’s we like and this one has been added to the list. We camped here for 6 nights while in the area and were so impressed with how nice the staff was and loved the cozy feel of this campground.

Sites are nice size for a KOA. Very friendly. Quiet, nice and dark at night. Nice mature trees for shade when needed. Usually avoid KOA's but this was quite nice.

First trip to Mackinaw Island, free shuttle to the ferries picks you up at the KOA. Camp and facilities are clean and well maintained. Full hook ups, level site, cable TV and very strong WiFi. Near I-75 but quite. Owners are very proud of their campground and it shows. Paved bike path to Mackinaw City near the campground.

Nicely maintained but spaces are tight. I got an end space & it faced the nature trail and pine/birch forest. It was lovely. Nice small pool & clean laundry facilities.

OK campground but I would strongly suggest a state park (Wilderness SP and Straights SP are great) over this KOA until improvements are made. The sites are very small and mostly dirt (we had poison ivy at ours and were told to keep the kids away from the edge of the woods). Some sites share electrical sources so you may have cords from other campers stretching across your site. Plus, they have A LOT of rules including high fees for visitors and no hammocks or clotheslines. The worst part is the firepits. They consist of small old rusty wheels set nearly flush with ground. Some are at an angle and very dangerous to use. We had several near disastrous incidents with small kids and I had to park my truck over ours to keep people from tripping in it when not in use. Not acceptable! Comparing the price to what they charge and provide at state parks, it's not worth your money until they fix the firepits.
On a positive note, most of the staff are friendly and the location is great! It has a lot of potential.
UPDATE: Management is unprofessional, cowardly, and lacks even the most basic customer service skills. After posting my review and management responded, my wife and in-laws were sent emails banning the family from the park due to this review. This was an unprovoked retaliation for my honest review and the owner refuses to answer our calls for an explanation (hence the cowardly description). I would recommend finding a different place to stay if you value custumer service and basic safety. There are other options in the area including Mill Creek, Wilderness State Park, and Straights State Park.
