We stayed here while visiting family in the area. The camp sights were nice with good level parking sites. We had a basic sight with water and 30 amp electric. Some sights are very wooded while others are more open and some have lake views. Our site had a path through the trees that went to the lake/boat launch area. We hosted a family picnic at our sight one afternoon and weren’t bothered by anyone. Keep in mind the vehicle fee is in addition to your campsite. We were charged $10 per day for the vehicle, but we were aware of this when making online reservations. The bathrooms however were not very nice. I’m used to camping at MN State Parks that have rustic bathrooms, but these were below par. Of the two showers one would stay on for 10 minutes when you pushed the on button. The shower head was not adjustable and it was basically like standing under a pressure washer. It splattered everywhere. The second shower had to be pushed in continually to operate at all, and neither one had hot water. The one urinal did not flush well and the tiny sink had no counter space. The sink faucet had to be held down continually to operate Also no hot water. On the bright side the bathrooms were clean and not heavily used. It seemed most campers here had bigger RV’s and used their own facilities. I camp in a pop up so I rely on the campground facilities. This campground near the city do so you will hear vehicle noise. We use a fan at night that provides white noise.

Awesome older park run by the city of Grand Prairie. Maximum electric service is 30 amp which may be a problem for larger RVs during peak air conditioning season. We stayed during winter and 30 amps was plenty. The sites are SPACIOUS and relatively private. We had a covered picnic table and fire ring and only one other site was very nearby, across the road. We were surrounded by lots of trees, which could be an issue for satellite reception, but we were able to receive Dish between trees. Park is quiet and provides easy access to the DFW area via TX 360 and US 287 in Mansfield. The closest big grocery stores are 1 to 3 miles away depending on which store one likes. There is also a general store at the park entrance. We found plenty of good restaurants in Mansfield nearby. We were self-contained so did not use the bathrooms/showers. There is no WiFi; we got along fine using Verizon. Add $10 per day to the rates for vehicle access. We'll be back next year.

Lovely wooded campsites with covered picnic tables, private fire pits and grill. Came with full 30amp hookups and lots of amenities including beach, playground, sand volleyball and a ton more. Verizon download speeds were 30-45mbps.

Sometimes you have to be close to family and this is why we ended up at Loyd Park. I needed to work a few days in Dallas while also being close enough to my family in Grand Prairie.
We arrived to a 24/7 gate which was nice, it also has a fast pass so if you are staying you can pass by the people checking in. There is a $10 car fee, but after buying an annual pass for the car ($125?) we won't have to pay that anymore for the year and we will probably spend time here again. We also got a Good Sam discount, so I think it ended up being $18/night. The $10 car fee restricted us from having too many visitors which was kind of bummer since the park is very nice and people wanted to come there to see the beach and play on the playground. Having a 24/7 gate also meant that there was no time restrictions on when you could come and go which I appreciated.
The spots are nice but they don't have many full hookups so we had to dump our tanks every few days which is kind of a pain. Also it was hard to figure out which spots were 50 vs. 30 amp on their website. Some of the bathrooms are heated and the showers have hot water after you push the button a few times, however having to push a button over and over and over again is kind of a pain in the butt. Everything was clean however they need some serious tree trimming and it would be nice if they could blow the leaves during the fall. It is directly off Hwy 360 and close to everything you could want, however with the construction, getting to Loyd Park can be tricky.
We couldn't get wifi, though I heard if you park close enough to the office you could...
We stayed 2 weeks in early November and again for two weeks in early December. It was mostly empty during the week and filled up on the weekends.

This county park on Joe Pool Lake is quite large with many camping loops. The sites are fairly large with plenty of trees providing privacy between neighbors, and each site has a covered picnic area and fire ring. The interior roads were in good condition, but being heavily wooded it can be a little tricky driving a big rig through without scraping against tree branches. Our site was not level but with our wood blocks we were able to get completely leveled. There are plenty of heated bath/shower houses for each loop. It's less than five miles to supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Unfortunately during our stay (December 2015) much of the campground was under water due to flooding of the lake, so the beach and other amenities were closed and the campground was mostly vacant despite being a holiday weekend. AT&T and Verizon both worked well, and we received plenty of over-the-air TV channels. There is a $10 per day vehicle fee in addition to the $23 camping fee. We'd return here, but only after the flooding has receded and the damage it caused has been repaired.
