We found the campground quiet and pleasant but had a very awkward layout with very narrow and tight entrances to the camping pads. So that is to say many sites here are probably not very suitable to RVs but rather car camping or vans.
That being said we enjoyed our stay. Cell service was minimal. As we walked around we couldn’t help but continually remark about the seemingly haphazard campsite layout.

Our spot was pretty level, but we did use blocks under our stabilizers for extra support. Many sites are not level, but blocks are an easy fix. Clean bathrooms and water is available throughout the campsite. Lots of places to hike and the Pyramid Lake is nearby. Great place for mountain or E-bikes. Beautiful sunsets and sunrise, but once the sun is gone, it got cold (late October). Camp host was friendly and very nice. It was very quiet - no trains!!! Would definitely recommend for more than one night.

If the bathroom lights weren’t so bright, you could stargaze right from your campsite. You can hear the coyotes near by, so keep an eye (and leash) on your dogs at night. Daytime isn’t a big deal.
Wife said the toilets were ok.
3-stars because it’s just a nice average state campground, but nothing remarkable.

I was pleasantly surprised with this campground. I came on December 21 2022 and had the place pretty much to myself. Safe, clean, thoughtful campground right near pyramid lake. I used T-Mobile hotspot and had no problem getting a signal. However it only reached two bars but enough to make things happen. The campsites are on a slightly sloped hillside but they were designed to be completely level in 90% of the campground sites. There’s a few pull through‘s that were not level but most are. Mike the campground host told me that in the summer it gets pretty full because pyramid lake is so close. Highly recommend.

There were only 8 sites taken on a beautiful Friday evening in February at this campground. Reservations can be made, but seemed unnecessary. Lots of sites could accommodate large rigs, although the very upper loop had somewhat of a tight turn. Best to park down by the entrance and walk to scout for your site. Easy access from I-5. You are able to see the highway in some of the lower loop sites, but hardly hear it and you will not be able to see or hear it from most sites in the upper loop. Most sites are not exactly level, but not bad. If you have a slide, the pullouts are almost not wide enough, and you might feel your slide is sticking out into the road.
The dump station is located before the entrance to the campground. The campground entrance is actually the 3rd driveway.
Very friendly camphost, very clean bathrooms, very clean campsites.
Don't let the lake be the reason you come here, unless you are a boater. Walk-ins are not allowed and neither is swimming.
Too bad there are not any hiking or biking trails in or around the campground.

The surroundings are beautiful and we wished we could have stayed here longer. The camp host was very friendly. It looks as if there used to be hookups, but they are not used any more. So it is dry camping only. There is a dump station near the entrance. We had a pull through site (#14) and it took some careful manouvering to get our 34' trailer in there, but it worked and it was level enough so that we did not need any blocks.

This campground is HUGE. 90 some spaces in 4 separate loops. No frills. About half the sites are back in (and a bit narrow) and the other half are pull-through semi-circles. I took a pull through that was perfectly level. Didn't need any blocks at all. I had loop 1, all to myself. The Hostess (Sheryl) was a lovely woman and my dog Cosmo got along with her dog Tank (aptly named). There are garbage cans close to every site, many dumpsters, and every loop has bathrooms that are clean and well kept. The sites are clean. I chose no hookups, but there was potable water spigots throughout if you need to refil a tank, and a dumpsite on premises included in the cost. Be sure to mention if you have an America The Beautiful pass. It got me 50% off and I paid only $30 for three nights.
There is very little light polution and the stars and planets were amazing. Access is easy. Everything about this campground was easy. They had ice and a few odds and ends in the "check in shed" like bug spray, batteries, etc. No stores nearby, so come stocked up on food.
I planned on staying one night, but hung out for 3 days. It was just nice, clean, cheap and easy. Pyramid lake is about a mile away. It was OK, but you have to pay $12 to get in and the lake is closed to swimmers due to toxic algae.
