“Many Other Free Sites ”

So I was going to Kings Campground ….
But there are multiple FREE campsites on the road to get there.
There are some amazing views. You will feel safe, even alone and single. Can be extremely peaceful.
They are amazingly clean. They have outhouses (did not check them out). And multiple dumpsters. No water.
Some of the campsites have trees for shade. Most have picnic tables, fire pits and wooden canopy for shade. At least at some of the closet sites you will have Wi-Fi.
Some things to consider …
* It is an ATV area. So expect it any day / time.
* it is not a place to go for quiet during the weekend because of the ATVs
* it is hit or miss with it quiet during the week (May have to move to another campsite). I have had an entire campsite to myself. The next day (in the middle of the week) this group of people came blasting music until all hours of the night … I left.

“Nice shade & bathrooms, yet bugs & trash are rampant”

Drove in on quite a bumpy, unpaved road and had to pass through a California State Park that looked like it had many 4x4 tracks. We told the ranger we were planning on staying at Kings Campground and he let us drive through the park for free. After exiting the park, the road is paved but there’s only one lane and tons of pot holes. One we arrived at the campsite we saw tons of ammo trash (most likely from the 4th of July as we stayed here on the 7th). As we drove in further there is a nice larger shaded site with a few tables that we decided to camp in. Once we set up we saw so much broken glass it was disgraceful. We picked up as much as possible with our trash grabber (mostly for the sake of our dogs paws, but also future campers). Additionally, we burned a citronella candle yet the gnats were very prevalent.
Temps were nice at night.
