Basic National Forest Campground:
metal fire rings, picnic tables and bear-safe food storage boxes at most sites, but not all. One set of His/Her pit toilets - don't know condition as we don't use them when camp here.

YES, this is bear country! Both black bear & grizzly frequent this area. Other big game (moose, elk, deer, wolves, mountain lion, etc) may be spotted or heard also.

The campground is located 20 miles down a dirt road off the Chief Joseph Hwy. This road is sometimes in great shape, other times, not so much. Very popular with locals who enjoy riding their ATV's, horseback riding and also a place where gun fire can be heard, even outside of hunting season(s).

NO CELL SERVICE anywhere for at least 25-30 miles. SAT phones/garmin in-reach, etc ONLY

Off grid, quiet, close to home and a fun place to ride our atv's and/or horses. And to get in some target shooting for the hunting season(s).

Fantastic campground that is primarily used for equestrian trail riding by the locals, they are very quiet and respectful. The sites are right next to a river which I was not able to catch any fish from...If you continue past the stables there is a an amazing site right on the river that is very private. The road in is a long dirt road that is in good shape with a few potholes towards the end. We left our trailer here for a couple nights to go backpacking in the beartooths with no issue. The biting flies were pretty bad, but other than that it was awesome. There are 2 more campgrounds in this valley that are worth researching as well. There is no cell service at the campground, but if you drive back to the bridge you can get AT&T 4G.
