THE GOOD:
Sites: Spacious with grass and fire ring. Large tree for good shade during hot weather.
Gas: 2 miles down the road.
Restaurants and groceries: Only 9 miles from the campground,.
Quiet: Totally quiet campground (we had most of our side of the campground to ourselves).
Cell: Verizon is strong. AT&T is okay.
Amenities: Pool, playground, and laundry seemed clean and welcoming. Did not use the bathrooms or showers.
THE BAD:
Location: Not much in the immediate area (that we are aware of) if you are looking for something to do outside of the campground.
WORTH NOTING (not good or terrible)
Pond: There is a pond next to the campground that smelled a bit like grey water.
Other reviews: I really don't get why folks seem cranky about this place. It is modest (meaning not a resort) but well-maintained and very peaceful. The road noise is not noticeable at all, even when sitting outside.

Large hilly grass area to walk the dogs

Quiet, but the pull throughs are near a road. The road got less and less busy as the day waned though.

We had a reservation for a “special” spot, one of only two and when we arrived, lo and behold, no one to greet us and of course we didn’t have our site number because KIA doesn’t tell you until you arrive. We had a reservation for a “special” spot, one of only two and when we arrived, lo and behold, no one to greet us and of course we didn’t have our site number because KIA doesn’t tell you until you arrive. Got them on the phone only to find out hmm both those sites are occupied. Part of the reason I paid for the site was it claimed to be especially wide.
Well, he gave us a “more expensive” site righty up close to another to make up for it. It was only one night, cold and dark so what could we do? Oh, and the site was also right up against the freeway.
KOAs are not for us. They have great marketing material that makes it look much better than it is.
