We’ve camped all around Duluth. If your primary interest is to see the city this is a great option. Not a regular campground. Other reviewers stated this. Parking lot with tight backing room and lots of people to watch you make mistakes lol. I will stay here again

Lakehead Boat Basin is not your typical campground. It’s basically a parking lot at the marina that offers 30 RV sites. 12 are FHU and the others are W/E only. A dump station is available. The location of the dump seems awkward as it’s at the entrance to the campground. It is located at the back of site 1. Sites are all on pavement. Although not a conventional campground this is by far one my favorite overnight stops I’ve ever had in my 20+ years of RV travels. The W/E sites have a far better view of the lift bridge than the FHU sites.
A negative for the W/E sites is that there is not a decent turn around area at the end of the road. It appears that most of the RVs would have to do a multi point turn to get out of their sites. It would be even more challenging if vehicles were parked in the parking spaces across from the RV sites. Or even worse, you may have to back down the road to get out.
Site 5 was a 50 amp FHU site. It was fairly level. The sewer was at the back of the site. The electrical pedestal was at the back of the site, but on the campside. It appeared that every other campsite has their electrical box on the “wrong” side. Water pressure is 110 PSI, so make sure you use a pressure regulator. The rules do state that grills and fires are not allowed.
Campers can use the bathrooms, showers, and laundry at the Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites. It is located adjacent to the Marina/Campground. Bathrooms and showered were nice. Only 1 washer & 1 dryer ($3.00 each per use).
Verizon signal was 4 bars LTE. It was adequate to talk, text, search internet and stream videos. Campground did have WiFi but I did not use it.
We were lucky enough to get a cancellation to spend the night here. I would love to come back, especially if I could spend more time here.

We like the Marina, easy access to Canal Park and Downtown. We got there on a Wednesday afternoon as the sailboaters was arriving for the Wednesday night regatta. It was tight, all of the parking and RV spaces were full. It was definitely an "I owe myself a beer getting in here" moment once we were parked. We were just accoss from the little dock shed. Be patient use a spotter, stay in you lots lines. Second day there a 5th wheel backing out hit another 5th wheel and knocked it off its blocks. Very exciting!
We left during the time when the fishing guides and clients show up in the morning. We needed to back up all the way to the hotel to do a three-point turn around. Dump is on the side of entry road. Water pressure is real high and they warn you to use a regulator.
We would go back.

On a windy night the sailboats make a bit of noise, and at 5:30 am the fishing guides take off making a bit of noise (for about 10 minutes) but other than that it's quiet and NO BUGS!!! Water and electric at each site. If there are a lot of cars parked from people out sailing/boating it can be a bit tight getting in and out of your space, but no more so than many state and national parks I've had to maneuver around in. Walk to Grandma's Saloon for lunch/dinner. The Lift Bridge maritime museum is right there, along with sandy beaches 2 blocks away. And did I mention NO BUGS! :--))

We are relatively new to RV camping and my wife said that this is her favorite place to stay so far. First of all it’s right down by the riverfront by canal park in Duluth which is a very touristy part of the city. We have been here several times and always wanted to stay longer. To get to the RV park, you have to drive through the tourist area which is pretty tight with a camper or a big rig and then go across the elevated bridge, which is exciting, We had to wait for 20 minutes as a very large ship went through honking his horn which was very cool. After you go across the bridge you turn right into the marina/RV park. The staff are awesome you can tell it is basically a sideline to the marina but it’s very well run and very organized. The RV section is basically a parking lot with hook ups. We had site number 22 which is a partial hook up site we had electricity and water, when hooking up water make sure that you have a water pressure regulator attached to the Fossett and then you’re attach your hose to it the water pressure is 100 psi because it comes over the bridge to get to the park and coming down on the other side of the bridge it’s 100 psi so it will blow your hose and blow up your RV they made a very big point about this and I did not question the lady. The electric hook up was on the other side of where it comes out of our camper, but luckily I had an extension cord because I was about 3 feet short of being able to plug-in but I don’t think this is a problem if we were on the other site because it’s a shared plug in between two sites. The water was not a problem, it was right there. These Partial hook up sites are A little nicer sites as far as the view but all the sites are very nice. It’s very cool to be able to walk around the marina and look at the boats and you’re within very easy walking distance to all the tourist areas or to the beach. Our site was big enough to park our rig which is about 20 feet long and our Suburban. We had a sweet classic Airstream on one side and a popup on the other side. There were some very high dollar coaches as well. The showers are part of the hotel which are the nicest showers/bathroom we have I have ever seen in an any RV park it’s very clean. They also have a coin operated washer and dryer. We would highly recommend this place and we will be coming back again I posted several pictures. It is not a quiet place, You had both noise city noise and wind ships would go through the elevated bridge they honk their horn which is very loud but none of this I found disturbing it’s part of the ambience of the place

If you love seeing the Great Lakes freighters up close then this is the spot to stay in Duluth. It is also within walking distance of the Maritime Museum and a number of great restaurants and eateries in that Duluth Canal Park area. It has room even for large Class A rigs, smaller rigs are easier to move around in this place. It was a great place to stay and we loved it and met some really nice folks there.

This is a marina with RV parking in the city of Duluth. So don't expect pristine views and quiet natural settings. But for city camping, this worked out well. The sites are decent-size and mostly level. No privacy from neighbors and side-to-side could be tight quarters depending on the rig (and if it has slides) that is next to you. But for being within walking distance of a good restaurant and entertainment district, this is a quieter spot than being in the city proper.
The marina makes for some nice views over the Duluth port and the lift bridge, which offers some cool sites when it goes up and Great Lakes freighters come through. There is some routine marina and port noise, but we didn't find it troublesome. (Note that the lift bridge schedule could throw off arrival and departure since you need to travel over it to reach the marina.)
Cell service was great for Verizon and T-Mobile, plus the campground WiFi is good, too.
Having clean, modern bathrooms, showers, and laundry available in the adjacent hotel is a nice amenity.
It's city camping, but it's a good spot to hang out for a few days to enjoy Duluth.
