Road is a little bumpy for pulling the trailer, take it slow. We have a 22 ft. I would not recommend larger trailers. Tiny bridge as you cross into campground. We had the entire place to ourselves. Arrived about 11am. Clean volt toilets near our camp. No hookup, no water, no cell service. Just the sound of the birds singing, creeks running by most camp spots. So relaxing. Beautiful mountains to look up at. Old mining remnant can be seen throughout the area. Groves reservoir is 2.5 miles away for fishing.

We arrive around 11am on Monday. 4/22/24. No one around. So we picked a spot. Then changed our mind and went to another. Nice having the entire place to ourselves. Clean volt toilets. Each spot has a table, fire ring and BBQ. Carry in, carry out. No trash cans or hook ups. No water either. The area is surrounded by beautiful mountains... more

Plus the sound of rushing streams by most camp spots is so peaceful. Groves Lake is 2.5 miles away.

The Kingston Campground is located on the eastern slopes of Nevada’s central Toiyabe Mountain Range. It is in the riparian Kingston Creek canyon. There are numbered campsites amidst tall trees and green bushes. There is a small shallow creek that runs through some of the campsites. There are restrooms with vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings. Suitable for tents and smaller trailers, probably no longer than about 25 to 30 feet. There is, however, a pretty narrow bridge coming into the campground, so be careful. Also, there are low hanging tree branches on the road coming to the campground.
As far as recreation, there is a reservoir nearby that has fish. It was pretty low in September. There is also the trailhead for the Toiyabe Crest Trail nearby, just up the road. The main road continuing west goes over the Toiyabe Range. It’s an adventure for breathtaking, top of the world views. It ends on the other side of the range at Big Creek Campground. Only go with a 4-wheel drive, high clearance vehicle. It gets pretty steep and does cross the creek in several places.
I saw no fees associated for this campground.
