We stayed 3 nights in mid-February, weather was amazing! Clear views of nearby snow topped mountains and temperatures that got up to the 70’s. The layout of the campground was comfortable and we did not feel on top of each other even though the park was sold out. Nearby discovery center was interesting, but we did not do the cave tours. If you want to do the tours, make reservations far in advance. They did not allow check in prior to 2pm even though the park was practically empty. Our site was ready to go as well. They did direct us to the overflow camping lot where we waited. Park was dog friendly and there were lots of pups on leash but there is no dedicated off-leash area.

This is a nice campground, but like so many others, you’re right on top of one another. My site was level and clean. Bathroom and showers are dated but clean. In the shower you’re able to adjust water temp like you would in a home shower. This is NOT, thankfully, a push button type of shower! Dump station was average, iirc there was fresh water at your site, which I prefer. Lots of trails but beware, most are filled with large rocks that are loose and not embedded in the ground. On one section I fell twice because the rocks just rolled out from under my foot. I can easily see a twisted/broken ankle happening here. Hiking poles would be a big help but I didn’t have any. I took one of the cave tours and it was very informative and enjoyable. They are very militant on the cave tours so either leave EVERYTHING in your camper, or bring some quarters for a locker you can access before the tour. Despite the literature stating you need a warm jacket, you do NOT! It’s quite warm and humid and I ended up carrying my fleece the entire tour. You CANNOT take any type of phone or recording device in with you. Other than a couple of people letting their dogs run all over off leash, this was a very enjoyable visit.

I made a reservation since it was a holiday weekend, but it was the day after Labor Day and there were only a few campers. This is my second time here. It’s a great campground and very convenient and well kept.

Arizona sure knows how to have great partial and full hook up State Park campgrounds.
This is a great 62 site, 2 loop campground with all the anemities. All paved roads and camp sites. And 2 dump stations on the road out. Close by walking paths, hiking trails, or biking.

We enjoyed our stay at Kartchner Caverns State Park. You will definitely, want reservations at least during peak season for both the campground and the caverns tour. Both were full/sold out during our stay in late March.
The campground is adequate, although the sites are close together and some are very unlevel. Each site has a picnic table and gorgeous fire pit. We did not use the restrooms/showers so cannot speak to those.
The visitor center is a must do, as well as a cavern tour. I wasn't thrilled that no photography was allowed, since there was no reason given except they didn't want folks to drop their phone/camera and to pay attention to the tour guide. Really? The caverns are beautiful though.
We did the Foothills Loop trail and there are several other trail options.
We had 2 bars of Verizon 4G, but the campground offered excellent wifi.

Ours, #7, was convenient to bathrooms but had very little privacy. Great base for Tombstone, Bisbee and Coronado National Memorial. We visited Fort Huachuca Museum as well.

Another great AZ State Park!! Kartchner Caverns campground is very clean and the bathrooms were clean and all operating. The only negative is there are millions of small thorn balls all over the rocks and grassy areas. They stick onto the bottom of your shoes and then you track them into your trailer and step on them with bare feet. Check your shoes before going inside...ouch! Also, I don't know if it was just the time of year we were there or because of the campground's position at the base of a canyon but it was super windy--gusts between 20-40 mph.
Our site was 47--back-in, long and pretty level, and backs up to wilderness. I would book this site again.
From our site we got some WiFi from the park at times and 1-2 bars LTE and 5G on T-Mobile most of the time.
As others have noted, some of the sites look flat in the campground photos but if you have a long rig, you will need a lot of leveling blocks.
I made note of a few particularly un-level sites--37, 44, 45, 54
Level but short sites--58, 43
Some longer level sites--38, 39, 40, 41, 46, 47, 51, 52, 55, 56, 57
Most of the sites I noted are in the east/lower part of the campground. I didn't walk around the west/upper part.
During our camping trip, we did one of the tours (Throne Room) and almost all the hikes (all very nice and Guilliani Loop is a good cardio workout). Near Benson we did a tour of Forever Home Donkey Rescue; and and afternoon wine tasting in Sonoita/Elgin. We highly recommend Dos Cabezas for pizza in Sonoita.
