Located between Benson and Tombstone. No nightlife, restaurants or shopping for 12 miles. One lane bridge from Benson to St. David.
Great for a short getaway!$650 a month. Decent gravel sites, no concrete. Paved roads. Upper level of sites are spacious but very little shade. Out in the open and windy. Second deck has shaded and unshaded lots, mostly premium priced. 50 amp only hookups (have a converter for 30 amp). On site is a small clubhouse, huge laundry room, pool, tiny hot tub, restroom/showers all not handicap friendly.
*No wheelchair handicap parking at any of the buildings. Restroom is not wheelchair friendly.
**Annual Campers beware of the zillions of Park policies . A attorney pointed out these policies are open to interpretation at managements discretion, causing campers who pay up front annual costs to lose their money and campsite!!! You are subject to illegal and unlawful termination by management. No refunds issued. Buyer beware. Management has the right to play favorites, and they do!
New owner , new management, both lacking in business etiquette.
Activities during winter became a bore, and it was a drag to see the same old camp workers perform their nightly rituals of off colored comments and jokes, to childish and off putting dancing like clowns rubbing butts together. Every time an activity came up, there they were like the 3 stooges taking center stage, 🥱. It got old and childish.
The activities were karaoke, bingo at $20 a person, game night and only holiday dinners which they kept backtracking on, they would promise one thing and then we'd have another thing. The food was not very good. They advertise concerts on the green outdoors but all you ever hear is country, blues, and celtic music. Not a huge array of musical taste.The same bands over and over. Which by the way are free and you don't have to stay there to watch their concerts, they are open to the public. So if you feel like you're going to miss out on their concerts don't worry they open them up to everyone around the surrounding areas.
For the money there's really nothing spectacular about this park except for the old trees and layout of buildings, but in the winter the trees are bare so it's less beauty. They do have an amazing koi pond that wraps around the swimming pool area which is very attractive.
They run a weekly market on the weekends but the manager ended up ruining that. Vendors say it's not worth their time and the manager was moody to them.
The two lakes are really ponds and the management has done their best to ruin the ecosystem of them, and now they are scummy ponds that if you let your dogs drink out of it they're probably going to die from this terrible bacteria. They chased all the wildlife out of the area and they took out all the natural plants and vegetation around the lakes creating a sterile and damaged eco system. No clue how to take care of the lakes.
What started out grand has quickly turned ugly and sour. This is what happens when you don't hire native Arizona folks who know the people, the climate, and culture and ecosystem of a small desert town.
A lot of people enjoy camping around the lakes or ponds. It is something different that you don't usually see in Arizona.
Wi-Fi is hit and miss and if you read their paperwork you're not guaranteed to get Wi-Fi in your spot. During bad weather you're likely to lose your Wi-Fi and also during high traffic times. However they do claim that they have Wi-Fi available all the time in the clubhouse. There is no community kitchen that you can use it's for use of the clubhouse activities only.
When management first took over they pushed a lot of people out by lying to them and raising the rents continuously these were people who were living at the lakes under different management. So far in 6 months this resort has raised their prices four times.
The pool is not heated well enough in the winter, it is salt water treated. The pool area is large and clean. But I saw very few people in it after October because the water was too cold. The hot tub is overused, and small. No one showers before getting into either one, yuck.
There is catch and release fishing, but use at your own risk, I've noticed blue green algae and slime on top of the water.
The sunsets and rise can be spectacular on the upper decks, be sure to catch one.
Gravel sites make using mobility scooters hard to navigate as well as walkers and wheelchairs. You can modify them with pavers at your own cost and expense by asking for a reasonable modification. Beware of snarky responses from the GM, he has no empathy for disabled people.
The female manager is like a box of cracker jacks, you never know what you'll get.
Bottom line, the shorter your stay, the more you will enjoy it.

We can’t believe our luck to have found The Lakes at St. David. The RV park is very clean and comfortable. The sites are level and easy to maneuver. We can’t believe our luck to have found The Lakes at St. David. The RV park is very clean and comfortable. The sites are level and easy to maneuver. There are numerous amenities here to suit everyone: hiking trails, clubhouse, pool, hot-tub, fishing ponds. Nature lovers can watch the quail, white winged dove, and hummingbirds. The managers are super friendly and helpful. The event calendar is amazing… Sunday market, live music, bingo, game night, yoga, and much more. We made some really good friends here since our arrival in December. Sadly our time is nearly up but we plan to return.. if not later this year, for sure in 2025. Thank you for the fantastic memories!!
