We were passing through and found this park. Spacious sites and great dark night skies. Bathrooms are good - state park quality.
We wished we had planned ahead to see the caves but tickets were sold out. The discovery center is cool nonetheless.
Great price to stay!

This parking lot is very busy during the daytime hours that the Cave Tours and Visitor Center's are opened. But after 5:00 pm everybody leaves ( including the Parks staff ) and it is wonderfully quiet and deserted. There are actually 3 different parking lots to choose from. You can walk or bike over to the campground for hot showers and trash deposits.
This is a great park overflow setup that I wish all State Parks had.

We stayed here only one night but it was very nice, quiet and clean. Hot showers and sink area available. Hiking trails nearby. We didn’t get to go on a cave tour because they were sold out. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

My original reservation at the main campground was for 2 nights but it was a no brainer to stay longer and explore the area further. First, this is a wonderful park. There is a large volunteer staff that really shares their love of the place. The facility is immaculate currently celebrating its 20-year anniversary. The parking area is enormous with 2 big lots dedicated to pull-in and pull-through RV parking, plus an area for tenters on the south end. The pull-through lot is spacious and reasonably level. However, the slope becomes extreme as you move south past the helipad towards the exit. The views are fantastic with access to all the campground facilities. Sierra Vista is 30 minutes south, Tombstone about the same. A stop at the Historic Fairbank Townsite on Hwy 82 & the San Pedro River is amazing with lots of trails (hiking, biking, horses), old buildings, picnic area & site host.

It is pretty level, but you may have to do some leveling if you are a perfectionist! It is an easy walk to the visitor center, where you pay your $15 for one night of dry camping. There are picking tables & grills nearby. You do have access to some showers that we never looked for. You may have access to the rv dump, we were not clear on that. Nice and quiet. The visitor center offers lots of information about the caverns and their discovery. They have a great gift shop. They offer 2 tours, which are beyond fabulous. We took the “Throne Room” tour because that is the one we could get reservations for. The tours were full about a week ahead, and there are also specialty tours that are not daily. I am pretty claustrophobic and had no trouble with the caves - the openings are enormous and ceilings very very high.
