Flaming Gorge Reservoir is delightful.
Multiple parking options including grassy, waterfront areas with loose stone fire rings are a bit challenging with our 32' travel trailer.
We did have to endure dusty conditions and some mayflies but it was worth it.
We would happily stay here again.
With a Weboost we had 3 to 4 bars for Verizon and 3 bars for T-Mobile. Verizon did OK without the boost as well.

All the reviews are accurate. Dirt road is certainly passable, views are amazing whether on a hill or along the beach. Cows visit each day. Good AT&T signal.

The road in is 90% fine and you can drive 25. There are just a couple places where you need to inch it. Then there are roads and places to camp all over and there are great views. No shade, so best for spring or fall when it isn't hot. Was 77 when we arrived on a September 26.

Just as Beautiful and bountiful as Promised! Plenty of free camping space with gorgeous mountain and water views. No problem finding a spot on a Saturday in mid/late Summer 2023. However the Road to get here is not for the RV’ing faint of heart. The access road is called Jug Hollow Beach; it is a 5 mi dirt road that starts high, valleys, then goes back up again. We arrived with scattered T-Storms in 3/4 ton 4x4 with 32’ Fifth Wheel. The Valley almost ate us being this wet sand mud mixture. Had it not been for the 4x4 we would not have made it. When leaving: we inspected the valley for the best dry conditions (1-2pm) prior to leaving and deflated our Trucks tires to increase grip on the sandy mud road. All this helped us confidently make the journey back out. It is a rough journey but the pay off is worth it if you have the guts! Just pay attention to your forecast!

This was an amazing spot. 5 miles down the unpaved road, but it was fairly well maintained. Here during the second week of June and there are very few campers. Parked right on the shore. Everything was clean. No trash! Yay. Definitely a five star spot.

I made it about 5 mi down this funky washboard road with my two wheel drive truck and pop-up camper before throwing in the towel. As if the washboard wasn't bad enough, I started seeing areas of soft sand on the road. If you have a high clearance vehicle this most likely would not be an issue at all.

We stayed Labor Day weekend and had a great time. Bring shade for sure and it was very buggy at night. But otherwise it was a perfect place to spend a few days and play in the water.

Great place to stay. We had a great location at 40°59'25.1"N 109°31'45.0"W. We were 35' from the water, caught fish every day we fished. The bay is amazing. Boats came by occasionally, much more on the weekend than during the week. There can be some high winds in the later afternoons, but for the most part, excepting a few hours in the afternoon, it was calm and sunny during the day.
Everyone that had direct Verizon, or ATT service did ok. If you lease services from those carriers through other companies, you may get pushed down the line. A member of our party had Family Mobile and had no service all weekend, and then Monday, picked up two-4 bars of LTE service. Visible had no service the entire week, even though they are a subsidiary of Verizon now. The locals in Dutch John all use ATT.
There was some ability to kayak or paddleboard across the bay to the north, and jump off rocks, and swim. Forest Road 319 was great, although I would avoid it in a rainstorm, until it dried. Other were concerned about washboarding, but it was minimal in my opinion. I also recommend getting out and checking the ground, as the reservoir's water level recedes, you may want to get very close to the water, but we helped two vehicles get out who got too close.
Its now one of our favorite places to boondock in Utah!

The area is clean, no trash, just some fire pits set up.
I do have multiple cell services and all were great. We're full-time RVers and I work. This was a HARD place to work. It's just so nice to be outside and seeing the water from my window is hypnotizong. We were here at the beginning of October.
I'm so thankful that we were able to spend time here. It's a beautiful, peaceful place.
