We took our 36' Class A down all the way to the very end of the peninsula because every other spot was full. Its a decent road but has quite a bit of washboarding so take it slow. Its about 4-5 miles all the way to the end and it took us a about 20 minutes to get back there. There are a lot of spots to choose from IF you don't show up on a Thursday of Friday. We find a nice quiet spot right on the waters edge at the end of peninsula. We loved our stay and the only negative was the road. There are tons of free camping spots all over this lake so Im sure you can find one with a shorter road if needed. We just picked this one because of it having the most reviews. Cell signal was good with Verizon @4G.

The road in is wide and good even if it is unpaved. The sand on it is hard packed and easily navigated with our 25 foot trailer. There are several places to turn around at the end. We camped at the end of one of the turn-outs off of 619. (40.9831330, -109.5420673) We were at the top of a steep bank. There are some sites that are at the water’s edge but most of those were gone by the time we arrived on a Friday afternoon in the summer.
Most of the places seem to be pretty level. The area was very well kept. No visible trash.
The night sky was amazing. It was almost totally dark, and the Milky Way was easily seen in the night sky.
There were other campers around, but people were fairly well spaced out for some privacy although still close enough in most places to hear muffled conversations and music as well as generators.
If you have a boat, you could easily access the water in some areas to put in. Our campsite was not good for a boat but easy to hike to the water’s edge with a paddle board.
The water was ice cold and very clear and clean.
Beautiful spot! Well worth the drive in!
