Some sites are better suited for tents because of the incline of the parking area. Most All? sites have picnic table and firepit and tent area. Some have a wind/sun shelter over the table. I went around and rated sites 1-35, I rated them in size and how level they appeared. (Very unscientific). Better suited for tents: 4,5,6,7,19,23,25,32. Good for an RV without a toad:11,17,18,20,27,28,29,30 Good for RV with toad or a truck/trailer:1,2,3,9,10,13,18,21,22,24,26,31,33,34,35 Finally these next sites are larger like the group above, but not very level.8,12,14,25,32. Hope this helps. I was in 31 and my 28" class C fit with a Jeep and a nice water view,

Water access is about a 10 minute hike down to the body ramp. Once there hike the shoreline, wear water shoes, to the most beautiful secluded cove. Road is easily accessible with a trailer and does not get slick with rain.

Open space with a few trees and great views of the reservoir. Sites have fire pits, table with metal canopy. The canopy was helpful as it rained for a couple hours in the early evening. Ron the camp host was very helpful. Central flush toilets were clean. Only 4 other campers. CG closing for season shortly after we left.

I agree with everything COJules said! We picked Flaming Gorge as a stopover between Cody and Crested Butte. It did not disappoint, except for the crowds. We were there on a weekend, so there was a decent proportion of groups there to party. Great campground, great hosts, weird crowds; next time I'll seek remote!

I arrived in the area on a Thursday in early July hoping to score a spot in the dispersed camping area on FR 319, wow was I surprise with what I found. I drove down looking for a spot to be met with hundreds of campers, 5th wheels, kids, dogs, generators, boats...you name it. That’s great for some people, I was looking for something a bit more low key for me and my two gal pals for the weekend. I drove over to the Antelope Flats campground just south of the dispersed area and took a spot on the back loop backing up to the desert. It was PERFECT! Roy and Sarah, the camp hosts, were absolutely amazing. They had maps, info, a relaxed attitude and a smile...just what we needed. The sites are spread out enough, but it’s the desert so no trees blocking anything. There is a private beach for the campground that we spent our entire Saturday enjoying. A day use boat launch is a quick walk from the campground as well as a dump station ($5 fee), fresh water fill and bath houses. At $20 a night it was a steal for the quiet atmosphere, private beach and easy access to Dutch John for ice, beer and snacks. I will definitely go back, if only to say hi to Roy & Sarah!

We were here about a week before they closed for the season. When we first arrived, there was nobody else in the campground and there didn't appear to be a campiest here either. After driving around the campground a couple of times we decided to take the best site which is 33. As we were setting up, the campiest appeared in his golf cart to inform us that we did in fact have the best site. He sold us the rest of his firewood at a discount since he was leaving soon.
We were entertained by wild rabbits (five varieties), chipmunks and of course antelope (pronghorn). There are no hookups here so you better have solar or a generator. Water is available at the bathhouses. Speaking of which, they are not the cleanest that we have encountered, but they are flush and there is running water in the sinks as well as 110 vac outlets in there too.
The boat ramp area is very nice and if you are there at the right time of year, I imagine the fishing and swimming would be good. If you have any kind of boat, it is a great place to launch. We did have some company on the weekend and most everyone had a canoe, kayak, jon boat or even large speed boats.
We had excellent sun all day long for our solar panels. I would set them up facing east at night and the batteries would be charging by the time we were stumbling out of bed. During the day, I would adjust them to follow the sun and they would be facing due west until the last rays were visible. Excellent star gazing there although there is some light from the camp host's cabin.
Bring everything you need when you come as it is every bit of 5 miles on a gravel road. We drove in at 20 mph due to the washboard spots here and there.
Just before the campground you'll see a power line with some camping spots. You can boondocks here if you want. There were a couple of campers there during the weekend.
We will be back next year, it is a beautiful spot with a great view of Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
No cell signals that we could get.

As of June 2023 the road into campground is pretty good. Only a few sections of washboard on the 5 miles.
