I had trouble turning my 32ft Class A around at the final site about 2 miles up the road which is no longer a spot for logging operations. There is really only 2 spots on this road and there is barely any AT&T signal.

There are about 3 good spots for larger rigs if you are bringing an RV but a few more if you are tent camping. The third spot is the GOLDEN spot! On Google Maps you see a horse trailer parked in a bigger road space. This would be your last turn around spot for a rig. The camping spot is just behind that horse trailer tucked back in the trees with a fire ring and a wonderfully level large space that accommodated our 35’ 5th Wheel perfectly! This is the spot to be at and if you happen to drive all the way over there and someone is already in the spot this is going to be your only opportunity to turn around. The roads past this are either too bumpy or don’t offer turnaround spots. Others complained about logging truck traffic but in this spot you aren't bothered at all by it. There should be limited cell service on Sites 1 & 2 but none in Site 3. Although this third spot doesn't have cell service, we were able to get some walking closer back to the road. We did have a horse trailer park at the entrance and they were out for the day riding, but it wasn't very bothersome and only happened one day. There is a large field down the road if you walk down and further into the forest. We were able to play some baseball & fly a kite there! Beware though, LOTS of horse poop!

The road itself is pretty dusty, as well as our site, but it didn’t dampen our time. We did have traffic on the road, but otherwise a very quiet area. We saw wild turkeys, squirrels and hawks while we visited. There was a fire ban so we didn’t get to have a fire, but there was a pit. We did find some litter but not an excessive amount...on a strange note, it seemed as if someone had a haircut out there. I had decent cell reception with Verizon, but my boyfriend basically had no service until we went to town. We camped during a full moon and the view was amazing. Highly recommend and would camp here again!

Stayed during the color changing of the leaves, nearly full moon, and WHAT A SITE/SIGHT!!! Road is dusty, but I found a spot that was a bit more tucked away and couldn't believe my luck. Since it was a Monday-Wednesday, I practically had the entire place to myself. There was a notable number of work trucks (~3/day) and tractor-like machinery going by (~4~5/day), but luckily my spot was just far enough off the road so that the fine dust didn't reach my area.
Amazing shade, amazing sun. Really, the time that I was there was amazing weather and scenery. Lots of space to play.
I wouldn't say it was a dump, but I did spent time throughout my stay picking up small, hidden pieces of broken glass, cigarette butts (gross), and other small random trash.. definitely not pre-occupied by those who understand LEAVE NO TRACE. glad I had my handy extend-a-grabber. It was enough to keep my shoes on while walking around, and I love to be barefoot in nature.
OH! And a critter of unknown origin (fat, light brown squirrelly build with big round ears and long, puffy but not bushy tail..?) decided my travel van's engine would be her (guessing maybe she was prepping to have babies..?) new crib. destroyed half the engine insulate to accommodate her nest and didnt want to leave. Still not sure if she ever did. tried many luring methods.
Saw a flock of Wild Turkeys cross the dirt road and a Golden Eagle cross the view looking out over towards the other mountain.
Weekday or early bird camping is prolly your best bet here, as it didn't seem like there were very many (good) campsites.

We got in a little earlier in the day so we had no problems finding a great campsite , but we did see many rigs come through the road then back down so I assumed they weren't able to find a spot so maybe come earlier if you want to secure a place. We also saw several logging trucks, with a sign up front to say that this was a logging area so it created a bit of dust/noise at times, but wasn't too much of a problem.
We had very limited cell service with Verizon and no amenities but still thought it was a great site to sleep at overall. There was a firepit as well, which would be nice to utilize if the fire ban is lifted in the future. Would definitely camp here again!

Good T-Mobile & OTA TV if you want to know what’s going on in the world. Clean area. Good hiking on Jackson Mtn and great access to Jeeping the area. Pagosa Springs is a blast. If you buy a week’s membership at the Springs & soak daily, it’s a very reasonable cost for a great way to start or end your day. We’re hooked on the area so I almost hesitate to talk about it.

There are only a few pull-offs on the road that have been converted to campsites. The first three were full when I got there, so I drove about 1 mile past the GPS coordinates listed here and found a nice spot on the right side of the road.
The site did look like it was at the beginning of a driveway, but there was a fire ring on an open plot of land, so I went for it. I car camped and only stayed one night.

This was a good place to park for the night. Close to town. A lot of logging going on though and honestly not to many spots our 25ft Motorhome and 10ft pull behind trailer. Very glad we did find a spot but woke up to logging at 5:45am. If in a pinch we would stay here again.

Dispersed camping is allowed along the first mile or so of Jackson mountain road. We found a great site about three-quarters of a mile in. Fairly level and long. Tucked to into the trees. About 6 or so miles up the highway from Pagosa springs.
