“The Pine Beetle has changed the look of this campground”

We checked this camp ground out,so that we could Kayak. The Pine Beetle has killed off most of the Pine trees in this park. We decided to stay Wilcox camp ground and take the Kayak to Bow Lake.

Honeymoon Lake campground is located in the forest along the Icefield Hwy south of Jasper. In this area there is a lot of beetle kill in the forest so it's kind of dead and dismal. Honeymoon Lake Campground has approximately 4 sites along the water. Only one or two of the sites along the water are flat enough to park a small RV. Other sites in the campground are larger and flatter. Honeymoon Lake is not fed by melting glaciers so it was warm enough to swim in July. It is not a large lake, but is large enough ... more
