Not really big rig friendly. No problem with our van. No water. Toilet was clean and trash cans were provided. What more do you want?

It was really tight and I disconnected the jeep at the last tight spot just to keep my wife happy. It at worst would have some pine needles rub on it. We were able to score the longest site right after you loop back towards the entrance. The ancient petroglyphs aren’t super special, but the fact they are there at all is indeed amazing. And of course, many different morons destroyed them by leaving their lack of intelligence on top of the ancient symbols for all to see. I think the best part is the trail behind marker 7 that goes up to the top of the ridge to the north, which has a bench waiting for you. The view is amazing.

We have a 25’ bumper pull and had no problem finding a spot. If you come in the next few days do know there’s a bunch of Norman crickets. This was the only down fall of the place or it’d be a 5 star. However they don’t hurt you and generally just hop away from you. They are not loud at night either so don’t worry about that. Yes some... more

Yes some spots are not flat at all but we had no problem finding a spot.
Walking the trails was fun for our family of 4
You can hear the road from time to time at night but it’s for sure in the distance.
It was früher off the road that I originally thought but not far at the same time. There is parking to the left and camping to the right. The signs will remind you too. It’s a one way loop even though I feel you’d have to go backwards for 1 or 2 spots.
There are 3 bathrooms. 2 are in the parking area and the other is in the “middle” of the camping. From the one I used - clean.
Another camper claimed to see a rattle snake. I never found it but just be aware they could easily be around. If you don’t know much about them…they will warn you with the rattle and just give them space/respect and you’ll enjoy the time.

The Petroglyphs were a nice walking self guided display. I only wish there were more trail map brochures, so I figured out what I was seeing by myself.
Late June was beautiful weather. Heavy dew in the morning. Great trails to walk, a pleasure after a day of driving.
I grumble a lot about the inefficiencies of government, but the BLM does a great job with our tax dollars without charging entrance or campsite fees.

We stayed one night in a 22ft class b. Sites are pretty close together and not very level but we managed. Many of the sites have Sun covers on the picnic table. Bathrooms could have been cleaner and one lacked any gender signage. Doors did not all lock.

This is a free FCFS BLM campground located approximately 3/4 mile off US 50. It was a washboard gravel road. At the end of the road you can go left to a picnic area which had a nice area to disconnect a vehicle or turn around. To the right was the actual campground. There are no hook ups of any type. There were bathrooms, but I did not use them so can’t comment on condition. There were trash cans located throughout the campground. Various types of sites including back in, pull through, or just pull off parallel to the road. Sites also various sizes. Several for larger rigs (camped in a 37 foot class A). Most of the sites did not appear level. Auto leveler on our RV would not work due to extreme side to side angle, needed blocks and to manual level. Campsite included a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. Despite being close to the highway, was very quiet campground. There were approximately 10 campers on this particular night. Had 2-3 bars of Verizon signal. Was able to stream videos, text, and search the internet.

good overnight half way across state just off 50. Several spots filled up by 7:30. we arrived 5:30, only two spots taken. we had a very adequate spot for our TV and 21 ft camper. no wind, beautiful skies, and magnificent views when hiking the petroglyphs. most were vandalized, however, at different decades.

I had high expectations for this place after reading the reviews, but ended up being disappointed upon arrival.
We stayed here on a Tuesday and had plenty of sites to chose from. However, as others have noted, this campground isn’t the best for larger rigs. The sites aren’t super level either, but we managed alright.
Most of the trash cans were overflowing. And there was some left-behind trash in our site and fire pit.
Perhaps the most disappointing part was the graffiti and destruction of the petroglyphs sites. It was rampant and very upsetting to see. People have literally carved their names over top of petroglyphs. 😢

Was just driving by, saw sign, spontaneously went for it. At 5pm only 3 of 16 spots were occupied. By 9pm was half full. Clean, quiet, sweet petroglyph and view walk. Trash cans at each site. Shade at most sites. Pit toilets are stinky but clean. Free. Very grateful for this place and BLMs care of it.
