“Expensive Location”

Being right next to I-70 and charging $20 for a piece of dirt, interstate noise all night and a pit toilet. The only way to pay was with cash. This place is not worth it you might as well sleep at a rest area for a couple of hours instead.

The campground is open for the season. The entrance and half the sites are in the burn area and undesirable. The sites further up the road are fine. Convenience to I-70 comes with the noise of the highway.

Winter seasonal closure from November ? to May 15, so could not have stayed. But it’s also closed for fire burn scar rehabilitation from 1-2 years ago. Burnt trees and low scrub.

This is an easy access, first come first serve, blm spot for dry camping. It's good for a place to sleep, and maybe if you are looking for river access. There’s a self pay station. We did an overnight with our 28ft motorhome pulling 16ft trailer. Good Verizon signal.

Quick pull off for a night stay on a long drive. There’s a trail to the river as well as a recreation trail for biking, running, walking etc. pit toilets, not bad. Highway noise is definitely there and constant. Used cell service to tether WiFi for work calls in the morning.

A good spot to land on a long drive but dry camping only and don’t go outside in warm weather without mosquito netting! Holy cow. Some of those boogers continued on our journey for the next three days. We were fighting them in the cab for a while! Small and blood thirsty. Lots of freeway noise. Pit toilets, just the basics.

I'm not going in to great details about this place because the previous posts said it all. But beware that I70 road noise is relentless. Bring ear plugs if you want to sleep. Also we arrived about 6 pm on June 24th and all but 2 of the 8 campsites had been occupied.

There are only 8 sites and are first-come-first-served. There is a self-pay station, two pit toilets, and a trash dumpster. The gravel road was easy to manage with our 35’ 5th wheel. The camping area is in the loop to the east, and the day use area is the loop on the west. Noisy from I-70, but convenient for a quick stop.

There are about 5 single sites and 1 double site. It is right along the river but there is no good river access. We stayed in site 2 and it was level, but there is not a good spot to sit right outside your rig. The fire pit and picnic table are behind so it seems a little crunched. The top sites are better for space and there is a turn around spot so you don't have to worry about driving down the road. I wouldn't take anything over 35'. It is close to 75 and 6 and so it is loud, in June it was 100 degrees without shade and the bugs were ridiculous. There is day access to the right, which is nice but can get noisy.
So the positives, it's right at the bike path that goes for miles and miles, it's 7 miles away from a Costco, and it is pretty central do a lot of places (Vail, Avon, Glenwood). There were a lot of fishing spots either way on the path. There are toilets and as I mentioned before the sites were pretty level so there isn't hard setting up.
All in all, if I needed to stay 1 night because it was a travel day, I would but not an extended stay. There are not that many RV parks in the area and the ones that are are $$$! There is one place close that has dry camping but it's $35 for nothing, so in comparison to that this is a lot better. There isn't a lot of boondocking close by either.

“Campground Is Closed”

Drove over there and the gates were locked. Not sure when they open for the season.
“Closed, found pull-off close-by”
noted 5/7/2022
Not sure if it’s closed seasonally or what, but the gate was closed last night when we pulled up.
Drove .25 miles south past the campsite entrance to a medium-sized turnout close to the river. Another RV welcomed us to share the space so we all camped for free there. There are 2 turnouts if one is already full. No issues, level enough, good service, pretty view.
