Great location close to RMNP and Grand Lake. Stayed here their first weekend of the season and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating.
Bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities were spotless.
Moose visited both nights.

We were promptly shown to our site. It was a bit small but we made reservations for a week only a few weeks out. Very popular campground that is run very efficiently. Great location Very near western side id Rocky Mountain National Park. Everyone criticized the upper loop but we loved those sites. Can’t wait to stay here again.

We camped at the river but still love Elk Creek Trailers when traveling in our travel trailer. We camped at Elk Creek Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Awesome location just outside the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The sites aren’t huge and are a little close together but nice surroundings and we saw 2 moose within our first hour at the campground!
Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Also has private showers which was great. Only complaint was that they close the showers at 8 pm every night. I have no idea why. They aren’t real heavily trafficked so it’s not a cleaning thing. Maybe Covid?? So that was a little disappointing since we like to shower late evening.
There is also only the one restroom and shower location so if you are in the upper loop it’s kind of far to walk not to mention dark at night!
Ladies who work at the front are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Overall wonderful experience and highly recommend

Great campground close to downtown Grand Lake and the west side of RMNP. I enjoyed staying on the west side of the park better than the east side. The east side is very busy and rv parks are crowded. We saw a momma moose and her calf in this park in the early evening. We only stayed one night but really liked it. If you stay here get up early and drive to the coyote valley trail in RMNP and look for moose. We saw 3 while there. Nice flat gravel trail.

Super convenient to Rocky Mountains National Park and Grand Lake shops and restaurants. We were even visited by a Moose cow and her 2 calves at our site the first night.
Would highly recommend!

Overall our stay was nice and the park is well maintained. Water pressure on the upper loop is quite low and the water itself is clean, but very unpleasant to drink, and shouldn't get anywhere near a decent ground of coffee.
The upper loop is partial hookup, which makes the nightly rate of $50 quite steep, in my opinion. Particularly for such a small site. My 26' trailer wasn't a good fit; the truck had to be parked on the street.
Wireless Service ---
Cell service is great. T-mobile, Verizon, and AT&T all have strong signal here. Wifi in the sites is also quite usable. Verizon, while a very strong signal is present, lacked bandwidth.
Service with 6dBi gain, omnidirectional antenna:
Tmobile
30Mbps down
10Mbps up
Verizon
2Mbps down
2Mbps up

We loved this place so much! Really close to town and Rocky Mountain NP. Seriously loved it. There are moose and deer that frequent the campground, great spacing between most sites, a playground (closed cause Covid19), and showers and laundry room.

I made the reservation in the afternoon. Waze directed us thru Rocky Mountain Nat’l Park. The drive was beautiful, but when we came to the turn we needed to make to reach the campground, the road was closed. Waze could not find a re-route. Looking at a map, the only detour I could see would take a couple of hours. I called the campground before they closed, but I only got voicemail. I left an urgent message, but did not get a call back. We were exhausted from driving all day, so we stayed at the first rv park we could find. I called Elk Creek campground several times first thing the next morning. I only got voicemail, so I left a message explaining our situation and asking for a refund. Someone left a return voicemail saying that they would not issue a refund. I am offended by the lack of customer service and compassion. I will avoid this park in the future.
