Love that we could camp right next to the beach. We even had some elk visitors during the day. We also saw harbor seals playing in the surf. They had nice hot individual showers for free and flush toilets.

We stayed in a site at the far end of the campground with a view of the ocean. It was really a tent site but our van just fit in the parking space. Beach sand is loose and hard to walk on. It was cool to cold and foggy during our trip but that was expected given the time of year. We had some ATT cell service using our booster. Could get a signal without the booster when on the beach. A very isolated spot. One negative: Campendium says there is a dump station but there isn't one. Fortunately, we had enough tank space to make it to our next stop.

Many sites right on the beach. Most with good spacing. At the end of a 6 mile gravel road (24' limit, no trailers). Fern canyon, a must see, is an easy half hour hike away, and leads to numerous other trails throughout Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. An enormous beach. Wonderful spot.

“No Trailers”
noted 5/16/2023
I can camp on the White Rim Trail in Moab with my offroad trailer but not here. A 1995 Coachman Class C can make it but not my $180k rig. Total BS.
