This place is easy to find and access off highway 64 - convenient to the interstate and about an hour from Grant Canyon NP. Because of that, I was concerned about finding a site in mid-July, but we had no trouble. It's well used and the main access road is in good shape although the side roads quickly deteriorate. Nearby campers were about 100 yards away and partially obscured by trees. One such neighbor decided that blasting the radio at 6:30 AM was a good idea. Otherwise a peaceful and functional place that we'd definitely visit again.

Spent 2 nights here.
Close to town and shopping, gas. Bearazona a must see for animal lovers. Hours drive to South Rim of Grand Canyon.
Had no troubles finding a spot or leaving spot for 30’ MH towing. Would gladly stay here again.

A good location for visiting the Grand Canyon. Lots and lots of sites as you drive back away from the highway. We drove a little further back from where most people were and found a quiet, more solitary site. It is a large area—we counted over 50 RVs/campers that we could see as we left the area—and there was still room for more, so good to know you can probably always find room here. Enjoyed hiking along the forest roads. This will be our future go-to site in the area as we come through Flagstaff. Note you may want to check for fire closures during wildfire season as the forest roads may be closed.

If you’re only planning on spending a day at the Grand Canyon, do yourself a favor a camp near the little town of Williams. It’s only a few miles from the Interstate but feels remote. Absolutely gorgeous scenery and plenty of room for many campers. The road is well maintained and suitable for all size rigs. Less than an hour drive to the Grand Canyon but very near train to bring you directly into the National Park. Plenty of options nearby to fill freshwater tank and dump.

This BLM site was very spacious and just a short drive on dirt/gravel road. There seems to be 2 separate areas… the first one you come to is treed and spacious and further down road 71 is a open meadow which appears to be a favorite. It is a dark sky area, but even near the trees the sky is vivid! Area we camped in was clean with established fire. If you NEED tv, there were 15 channels available OTA. Paid $10 at Canyon Motel&RV park for 35 g of water and $2.50 a bag for garbage dump. There is a fair bit of road noise in the first area from hwy 64 that leads to the Grand Canyon. Big variety of TTs and camper vans.

Super spacious area with lots of pull off areas and fire pit rock rings surrounded by the forest. Had full bars of service but the internet wouldn’t load - I think too many people were on the cellphone tower. Great place to stay for a while though!

I think we really lucked out on finding our spot for the next 2 weeks. We were in an open area, kind of like a meadow, with views of the mountains and trees and the fresh fragrance of pine always around you. We had neighbors, but far enough for privacy, and close enough if you want to meet others. Easy, .smooth road to get into and lots of choices for camping. However, the further you go back into the forest, the more likely you will need a sturdy setup, like a 4x4 to get you through. Lots of stars to see at night as there is plenty of darkness above you. Close enough to Williams for shopping, laundry, and sightseeing. Grand Canyon is about an hour away and not so crowded now. Plenty of hiking trails nearby or travel to nearby Flagstaff for hiking or driving on a dirt road. We dumped, threw away our trash and got water at Canyon Motel and RV Park in Williams. There is a fee, but reasonable. Roomy enough for a big rig (like our semi) to go to get into that RV park for the dump and water. The only reason why I am giving this camping area 4 stars is the incredible wind we had to go through. For some reason Arizona has been so windy this year (2021)! Since we chose to park in the open (we have solar) we got hit with a lot of wind. But, overall, this is a good spot to camp and the wifi was pretty decent. I would recommend this place if you want to visit the Grand Canyon, ride on the Grand Canyon Railroad, step back into time in the cute hamlet of a town, Williams and want some peace and quiet.
