The park, like most in the area this time of year, was full during our entire stay. And rightfully so! It's beautiful! All RV sites are on level slabs with power and water hookups, a fire pit and pavilion. They're nicely angled for easy backing in. All sites are within earshot of the Gulf of Mexico and many have a view of the beach and water. They are all surrounded by large areas of grass which is great for dogs and kids, but did pool with water during the frequent rain and thunderstorms we encountered that time of year.
The sites, grounds, welcome center and facilities were all in excellent condition and the onsite staff were always taking care of the property and the visitors. The Ranger's Station at the entrance had a drive-up window and we didn't even have to get out of the truck to check in since we had a reservation. Speaking of which, I'd recommend booking early since they told me that they're pretty much full all the time. I noticed that when a neighboring site vacated, it was filled in again shortly after. We noticed that they offered dispersed RV sites and tent sites for those looking to rough it a little more. We saw several tents being set up with some difficulty due to the high winds coming off the Gulf, so make sure you bring a buddy to help keep things from blowing away, make sure to use some heavy-duty stakes and keep an eye on your awnings and popups.
The dump station was very easily accessible and worked great. There was plenty of space to turn around there and even queue up a few RVs to use it.
Nearby, there are a few restaurants, bars, small grocery/convenience stores, gas stations and a laundromat. You're also not too far from historic downtown Galveston which has everything else. Parts can get pretty touristy but offer a lot to see and do and we enjoyed walking along the seawall and visiting Pleasure Pier amusement park.
The TX State Parks Pass saved us $20 on our second night and has some other benefits/discounts that were useful during our stay as well as future stays in the TX State Park system for 12 months. It may be worth considering for you.
Since Galveston is kind of it's own destination and not really on its way to anywhere, I'm not sure we'll pass back through that area for a while, but if we do, we'd definitely consider staying in this beautiful park again.

Easy check in. Large sites with pads and great covered patio. Right on the beach. Glad we got to experience Texas beach but definitely not our Emerald Coast. Mosquitoes were terrible. Nice bathrooms and shower house. About 5-10 miles from everything in Galveston. Took the ferry over and found a great Pizza place.

We stayed on the bay side and our friends stayed on beach side. Ours was much more space but friends had beach access and shelters. Both sides were great, clean wonderful facilities. Beaches were lovely and Galveston was a ball!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! We stayed in the dry camping area which gave us a view of the ocean out of our front window & you can hear the waves. The beach was about a 2 minute walk. All sites, including the dry camp area, are concrete & plenty of width. Our Class A is 45’ which required us to park our toad perpendicular in the site.
We did not use the restrooms or showers. Check-in was fairly easy but with only 1 entrance this could take a while if there is a backup. Also, if you leave the park you have to pass back thru here even with a vehicle pass. The park is just off the highway but highway noise is not too bad. The dump station is a single site which can have a line. The dry camp area has a fresh water spigot at the entrance.
Our cost included a $70 renewal of the Texas State Parks Pass.

Clean restrooms and showers. Platforms for tents is such a cool idea. Hopefully we can find more parks that have these in Texas.

So first I have a few rants....this is a really nice park and well kept but...I think the person who designed it was not a camper! There are bathrooms down by the day use area, along with showers/foot showers to rinse sand as you come off the beach. The only other bathrooms are in the center of the park where all the hookup sites are! There are NO bathrooms close to the tent area or the primitive area, and no showers/foot showers as you come off the beach.
Next rant...I was in the primitive area, living off my solar, no generator. It was awesome out there to listen to the waves, birds, etc....UNTIL a truck pulls in right next to me (there was nobody else camping out there) and just sits in the truck and runs it non stop! It is a loud truck! I finally go out and the guy says his wife can't handle the heat! To make a long story short, I went to the office and talked to Kyle, Assistant Superintendent. He says they are not breaking any rules unless he runs it after 10pm. I said but I can't even sit outside now! Why does he get to enjoy his spot but now I can't? He did not seem to care that I was VERY upset and told me I could move (and pay more $$) or I can leave!! Nice customer service!! The guy/wife sat in that truck for 12 + hours with it running and the ac on and then finally left!!
Other than that I enjoyed my stay. The beach was right there and nobody was on that part of the beach!! Cost was $15 a night plus $5 day fee.

Love stopping here. Sites with elec & water, or dry camping at half the rate. Also tent sites. Did not use facilities so no comment.
Only negative for me was the curb without ramp at dump station hard to use with tote.
Not many obstructions so my Starlink worked great. Visible & Cricket worked fine. Did not bother testing Verizon nor T-Mobile 5G
Great friendly staff.
