We’ve stayed at several KOA’s across the country even though they are not our top choice. I never dreamed I would give one 5-stars but this one certainly earned it!
Sites & roads are all concrete & there is ample space between sites, something rarely seen at a KOA!! There is also a separate concrete patio at the sites. Sites are wide enough to park 2 vehicles. There are plenty of amenities & activities. Pool & hot tube are heated & open year round. Staff is friendly & sends out text messages several times a day with announcements. Mail & packages can be sent here & staff will notify you when something arrives.
There is no valet trash but dumpsters are conveniently located to most sites. Depending on the length of your setup overnighters would likely have to disconnect in the pull-thru sites.

This park was perfect because it was right across the street from the beach, then since it has two swimming pools, we were able to swim in their pool after our beach time. Our grandson was totally entertained. Went to children’s museum in town & the Strand also. We’ll be back!!

I booked our stay at this campground. I have to dogs, the Koa said they are dog friendly and even have a dog park. We were so excited for our stay.
1 day in, we get a text saying we’ve had 3 notices that our dogs were off leash, and Tammy the manager said she wanted us to leave. First off, our dogs are never off leash, it’s for the safety of my dogs and others. We use retractable long leashes so I figured someone thought they were off leash due to the length of my leash. I told Tammy this, she still stated they had proof (which they wouldn’t show me when I asked) and 1 more notice we were kicked out. I was so confused by this. I went to talk to Tammy and explained I really never had my dogs off leash. She still said 1 more notice and we’re kicked out.
Her assistant manager Debora, charged me $20 for arriving at 1:10 at our site, when check in is at 1. We were in the office at 12:45 getting our paperwork done for the campground.
I talked to Debora about the dogs being off leash, she said she allows her dog off leash at her site as long as no one’s around, so I took a picture of her dog off leash as she’s the assistant manager and I got in trouble for having mine on a long lead.
A few days later Tammy again said “please come to the office your dogs were off leash again” I went up there and showed her, her assistant manager with her dog off leash, and told Tammy, that Debora told me her dogs off leash at her campsite all the time. Tammy and Debora were laughing at me. I’m not sure what for. They sent me on my way, saying my leash is too long and to use a short one.
I decided to leave a review about this on their page as I felt the fee they charged and the laughing at me was unprofessional.
Terry, an employee there, the next day told me Debora was in the office telling her she wants to charge me for my review because it mentioned her name. That day I was charged $135. I was irritated because I didn’t do anything wrong. And now I’m being charged for leaving an honest review.
Tammy then gave Debora the OK to charge me another $90! Terry said Tammy and Debora were so angry I left a review and said they were going to charge me until I took my review off. I immediately deleted my review as I can’t afford these fees. This is a vacation and I’m being charged more than I can afford for a 1 star review.
I left the campground, they tried to charge me again for $12 my bank is trying to dispute this charge.
The reason I feel this needs to be heard is because my neighbor was charged $40 for allowing his kid 3yrs old in the hot tub. He was also charged for his dog being in an outside fence off leash. My other neighbor Mike, was charged $60 for an early fee, he wasn’t sure what this was.
Charging for a review is illegal. Terry, an employee said she’s been there long enough and has seen Debora just go on the computer and charge sites fees without reason. This is against Koa policy. Debora is as assistant manager and doesn’t have the authority to charge fees without permission, but she does.
Debora sent a maintenance guy to come stop by our site everyday with a paper to check off if the site is clean enough. They also made our friend a camp worker, fix a toilet on his day off with no pay. This is also against koa policy. I could go on.
The campground is beautiful, but we weren’t able to enjoy it due to being scared to do something wrong and being charged.
Please, go to Jamaica rv resort, it is so calm and peaceful there. The staff is wonderful there. This koa is charging their customers outrageous fees for no reason. Now that my banks on top of the fees, I feel comfortable leaving a review without being charged again.

This campground is exactly as a koa or rv resort should be! Immaculately maintained, lawn, pools, bathrooms…. The lazy river and pool were warm and clean. There was live music two nights, which was a lot of fun, you could buy pina colada’s or margaritas! It is a short walk to the beAch. Perfect, wish I could visit more often.

Resort located on the quiet and uncrowded end of Galveston Island and you are about 15 minutes from a gas station with a small grocery store. We had a pull thru site but I recommend a back end site on the west side for gorgeous, unobstructed sunsets. Solid 5 stars!

We always liked this park when it was under private ownership. It felt comfortable and "homey". When we discovered it had been purchased by KOA we were a bit apprehensive. The good news is KOA managers and staff have done a great job. The park has been expanded with the addition of new sites. The pool and lazy river are nicely heated and the hot tub is great. We found the store to be nicely stocked and the staff to be friendly and professional.
Bathrooms were always clean and well stocked with soap and shampoo. The laundry has many machines and is clean. Only complaint is the coin pay devices tend to not like quarters from time to time prompting the staff to give you some assistance. As for the grounds and general appearance they get 5 stars. New plantings and great maintenance show pride of ownership.
Access to the beach is easy for the daily jaunts or just sitting and relaxing.Internet on the free net is pretty dependable and not horribly slow. Not streaming speed but they never are.
One suggestion we would offer is the former club house is closed and for use of staff only. In good weather that is no big deal but in the cold rain and wind of January people could not get together anywhere except in their RV's. Overall KOA has exceeded my expectations.

There’s no buildings around the western or northern sides of the property. Awesome sunset views. Next time I’ll book a back in site on the western most row away from the street for open views.
This is the first KOA I’ve stayed at that offers free yoga and meditation, which I enjoyed. They text you each day with the various activities, so there is always something to do. They have propane on site. Our cell service was strong. Laundry room with 10 washers and dryers.
We had our rig washed by Carlos, Royal Mobile RV. The office can get you their card. He was awesome and they did a terrific job.
Very nice place!

This is now a KOA property as of Feb, 2021. They have added more sites, and are replacing all the palm trees lost in the Texas freeze.
This park has a pool, hot tub, and lazy river. We enjoyed all of them. Plans for a playground are in the works.
Park os clean and sires are well spaced.
