Looking for a place to go camping in the Great Smoky Mountains?

Ela Campground, RV Park & Country Store has everything you need for a fun-filled campground experience for the whole family. Have fun tubing down the Tuckasegee River, fishing, campfires, swimming in our pool, and more. Wireless internet is available. Whether you are traveling with a tent or in a motor home, Ela Campground & Country Store is a wonderful way to relax, unwind, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors surrounded by the magnificent Smoky Mountains. Our campsites are just steps from the Tuckasegee River and campers have three easy access areas to the river.

Our family-oriented campground is centrally located to all the activities that make the Smoky Mountains a special vacation spot. We are located mid-way between Bryson City and Cherokee, North Carolina. Our camping community includes seasonal, monthly, weekly, and overnight guests.

For years the Ela Country Store has been a popular stop on the road between Bryson City and Cherokee. It’s a unique camp & fishing supplies store and information center that is a piece of North Carolina history. Originally located in the former community of Forney Creek, on the North Shore of Fontana Lake, the store was moved here in the 1950s piece by piece and then reconstructed. Forney Creek had become isolated across the lake when Fontana Dam was built in the 1940s. The store still retains the original creaky wood floors, wormy chestnut walls, and board-and-batten exterior that makes it a regional treasure. Over the years the old store has inspired the artistic talents of friends and guests. The beautiful painting and the woodcut are on display in the store.

We are a family-oriented campground, and our camping community includes seasonal, monthly, weekly, and overnight guests. We are centrally located to all the activities that make the Smokies a special vacation spot. Trout fishing, tubing, Rafting, kayaking, Mountain biking, Hiking and waterfalls, Shopping, Scenic drives, Cherokee Indian Reservation, Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, Harrah’s Casino.

We are pet-friendly! Please do not leave your pet unattended. Pick up and dispose of their waste. We do allow pets in your personal RVs or tents. They are restricted to 25 pounds or less. Pets are allowed in the camping cabins with a $25 pet fee.
