You will get to know your neighbors! Cherokee dancers on Saturday night at the incongruous tipis on site. Recommended!

Cell service was weak but the campground internet was reliable.
Located right on river with the sites long the river having a nice spot behind the pads to enjoy the water.
Saturday night they had a Cherokee Indian story teller. A nice touch given the areas heritage.
The only knock is the sites are very close.

Very clean and right on the river. The negative is the sites are very small. You could share meals with your neighbors. Clean , hot and private showers

You are not exactly living a wildlife experience but the back in sites are right on the river. There are swings to sit and watch the river, good internet and phone coverage. Owner is helpful and friendly. Very good access to GSM NP.
Excellent bathroom and shower facilities!
Good place, would stay again.

The bathroom showers are private and roomy. The owners are very helpful and generous.
We have Verizon cell service which was a bit iffy, if that’s important to you. We have a booster but I’m not sure we would have been able to stream TV so we watched what we had downloaded.
Overall, we recommend this camp.

Almost perfectly level, right on the Tuckasegee River. Very well-kept grounds, with cabins, a very nice comfort station and a community room with laundry, arcade machines and a beautiful porch with chairs right on the river. The owner even came out to help me back my travel trailer into the site! 5 minute drive into downtown Bryson City. 20 minute drive to Nantahala Outdoors Center. And, if you're lucky, you might catch a great view of the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad's steam locomotive running right past the campground. We will be back!

All sites have full hook ups. Entire area is newly graveled and clean. Looked like 3 cabins and 4 tepees for rent. Park owner greeted us by name when we arrived and was helpful. Bathhouse looked great with private rooms with shower, toilet, and dressing area. Also a couple of washer and dryers.
Negatives (to us) - While park is level the entrance from route 19 to Old River Rd was a very steep drop from route 19. Entering and leaving with RV in tow was challenging. Sites were very close together. Hookups especially for sewer were behind RV pad requiring us to purchase an extension for the sewer hose.

Sandwiched between a large river and a set of railroad tracks, it is exactly what you’d want nestled in the mountains. Bath house was amazing and was able to take our dog for a long walk along side the river. Just what we needed after 50+ straight days on the road. Access road can be tricky coming from the East if you are long (we are 30’ of motor home and 20’ of trailer) but we just went a few hundred yards past it and had plenty of room to turn around and come at it from a better angle. Will definitely be going back!

So disappointed with the owners. Because of previous reviews stating the driveway was tricky we called before booking to ask specifics- we have an adapter on our trailer that makes sharp inclines impossible to do without putting the truck bed into the trailer. We were assured we could make it still so we booked a week long stay.
When we got into town we decided to go check it out before bringing the trailer over (we were staying at a different campground for a few days since they didn’t have availability right away). After seeing the condition of driveway we decided there was absolutely no way we could enter without damaging both the truck and the trailer so we called to cancel. They assured us “no one has ever done that before” so we went back to the campground for a second time to reallllyyyyy see if there was a way we could get in, but still decided it just wasn’t possible.
Before we even had a chance to call back again, they canceled our site and charged us the full week. We didn’t know it at the time (or we wouldn’t have bothered going back to try and figure it out) but the time stamps on the email show it was after the first phone call. So even if we had decided we could get in, they had canceled our reservation and took all of the money.
We have made multiple phone calls to them after the second visit to try and resolve this- the wife actually hung up on us and then forwarded all of our calls. When we were finally able to get through to the husband he said he would call back and never did.
We never signed the agreement form, never gave them permission to charge the full amount or cancel the reservation. We were still willing to work with them even though they couldn’t provide us with any services, however the way they have handled things have forced us to take legal action.
Such a shame- we were looking forward to staying with this smaller family campground, instead they stole $350 from us and refuse to even speak to us. Stay far away from this place!
