“A bit noisy, but still green & pretty!”

We were looking for a site for a Saturday night during Covid & fire season and this is what we could find! The campground has a 20' trailer limit and for good reason - a tight hairpin turn going up in to the campground. We had site #14 which had a shared spur with the site next to it. Most sites would be better suited for tents or maybe truck campers, but with our long truck & 19' Rpod, we still fit and did not have to un-hook. There are a few sites that would have fit us. Sites and campground were clean. Nice hiking trails & views from some of the sites. Yes, you can hear the highway and trains, but we have found that to be true for every campground we have been to along The Gorge. Interesting fact - this campground is the first National Forest CG to be built - in 1916. Hence the tight hairpin and smaller sites! Still good though :)

$15 but it should be free, nothing but pit toilets, no sink or even hand sanitizer. Sites are loose silty dirt. The kind that gets in your nose and eyes just walking around camp. Highway runs right through your view of the river. The least relaxing, noisiest campground imaginable. Trail goes right through sites, no privacy. The camp host looks homeless with a beaten down old junkie set up that doesn’t seem inviting. You could find a rest stop that’s quieter and more well kept. Which we probably should have done.
