“Great Rest Stop”

We stayed the night here with our 35 foot 5th wheel. Lots of parking. Many trucks. Free dump out station. We ran our generator all night for the AC. Had a great nights sleep! I can see this place filling up. So hopefully you get a spot.

Pros: Easy ingress and egress; Easy to find from the Highway if going Eastbound; Paved roads in; Beautiful and many picnic areas with grills; Lots of parking spaces for RV’s and Trucks; Free dumping station; Free overnight
Cons: Rest area just off the highway so noisy; no power or water; Building restrooms are closed between the hours of 2:30 pm and 7:30 am; Only portable johns available other hours; State budget cuts no longer have any staffing at Tourist Centers; Building was poorly maintained with overfilled trash cans; Some noise from trucks coming in and out.
Note: There is a Weighing Station on the property, but it is closed down. If the upper parking lot is full, you can park in the Weighing Station area.
Because the actual Tourist Center Building is closed most of the day, we witnessed a few groups of people traveling by car urinating in the parking lot. Pretty disgusting. We did not investigate the condition of the portable johns. When the building was open, bathrooms were clean, but very old; both water fountain and drink vending machine were broken.
