We stayed here on a Friday-Monday, probably not the best idea. Sunday night was great. Quiet, calm. Friday and Saturday were next level. It is an OHV area and we knew that and didn’t mind that part at all except if we were to stay again we’d stay on the south side of the road as all the dust blows north. Also we’d stay further off the road to avoid the vehicles going 50+ on the bumpy, dusty road with their stereos on at max volume at all hours of the day and night. Literally the only time they weren’t was from 5am-7am. Someone played music at a ridiculous volume until 4am fri&sat. Something exploded at 3am one night followed by 20 vehicles exiting at very high speeds immediately after. Pretty sure we won’t stay here again. The area is great I just don’t think we are the target audience.

On our way back to Yuma from a summer.in Utah. Not in a rush to return to 100+ degree temps.
Plenty of room for big rigs and.privacy.
We stayed during the week. We did not ride our side by side strictly R&R.
I would guess it could be very busy on the weekends.
Great quiet spot...great find!

We originally stopped here just for an overnight but a leveling system problem turned this into a 3 day stay. It was such a beautiful spot though we didn’t mind. The view of the cinder cones and lava rock fields is fantastic. Even though this is an ohv area it was quiet and peaceful at night. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here for a week or so while hiking in and around Flagstaff. I travel the country full time and this is definitely on my top free spots list in Az. Enter easy as there are tons of potential holes, ruts, etc. The secret is to keep driving! Majority of the vehicles parked right after the sign for camping. The road gets better as you go further in. If you want solitude, the further you go once you enter… you’ll eventually see the best views of Humphreys Peak and have no views of other vehicles. It is an OHV area so you will see/hear those but I didn’t have any issues. After all, this is an area designated for them first and foremost. If you’re worried about the dust… stay further from the road. I got 1-2 bars 5g for AT&T, really in and out though. I got the same for Verizon but it was more consistent and could easily stream, do work, etc. On my last day I saw a couple areas where people have dumped obnoxious amounts of trash to include a vacuum cleaner and dresser. There were gun shots every night other than my last. It’s a shame people have to negatively impact these areas and others’ experiences but I won’t let that deter the 5 stars I give it. There is a cool history to the area worth looking into!

Stayed here Easter weekend 2024 and it sounded like a war zone. Non stop gun shots from different directions.

Arrived on a Tuesday afternoon in mid October.
THE GOOD: The location was beautiful and open with lots of space to park in the trees or in the Sun for solar. A few four wheelers zipping around but no one came close and nothing after sunset.
Truly beautiful with clear starry nights.
5G T-Mobile was 4 bars with 10Gb D/L and 1.5Gb U/L fine for Netflix or YouTube.
THE BAD: Road in was bumpy and narrow. Washed out in spots reducing it to one lane but it is manageable for a big rig or fifth wheel - Go Slow.
The dust is fine and everywhere. Every step or ATV that goes by will make a cloud of it that will get into everything.
I would stay here again and only take off one star due to the amount of fine dust.

Lots of trees and shade! Many campsites. Big rig accessible but go real slow. The only negative was the wind.

We stayed here over the easter weekend. We arrived on Thursday and had no problems finding a massive spot. There was a fair amount of traffic going up and down the road but we did expect that. Great version cell service

We arrived around 10 pm, in the dark, but the roads were easy to navigate with our 43’ fifth wheel. We found a great spot with tons of room to pull our rig in with ease. Very quiet and the stars are so clear. We stayed at a site on the left listed at the coordinates here >>> (35.3282705, -111.5283366)

We have camped here several times, always with a positive experience. We are currently here in a Monday and is very quiet. It is dusty though! This time we camped before the OHV area off the main road that has signs posted that only street legal vehicles are allowed.
It looks as though there was a recent rain event that may have flooded this area. The access road is the best we have seen it. Surprisingly little trash laying around.

“Didn't stay left asap”
noted 6/24/2023
Right off the bat I received weird vibes and strange looks as though I'm not redneck enough or something not sure so I U turned. It's a massive space with lots of no camping zones, you'll need to drive a few miles on boardy roads with OHVs dust in your face so if that's your cup of tea, there's plenty to drink. They say if it feels wrong, leave...
