If you get access to the hilltop spots, and you are in a fifth wheel, you need good driving confidence to get to the top (and back down). You will need 4WD to go up. No bath house/public toilets as stated on website. Fantastic Owners! Very friendly and will show you the grounds and discuss the area. We had never driven our fifth wheel in a place like this and even getting to the main grounds you need to be a little careful around the turns. Going up the hill to the hilltop area, you just need to keep going and do not stop on the hill. Views and privacy up top were very cool and awesome to experience. On the way down, I used the manual trailer brakes in my truck to slow us down and bit more and it was fine. Plenty of close by hikes and even access within an hour to Smoky Mtns. Natl Park.

Awesome people and spectacular place! Owners are super and the campsites are private, roomy, and offer spectacular views of the mountains, where you are nestled in amongst nature. Good hiking trails and lots of quiet time.

Fantastic RV resort! This is unlike any place we've stayed as full-timers for almost 2 years. Well maintained grounds and sites. Lush, spacious, tranquil, excellent views, and abundant wildlife. Hosts/owners are top-notch! We had a premium site that was discounted for the 7 nights. So worth it! Can't wait to go back!

Small campground with full hookups and very private sites with great views. The hiking is amazing and the hosts Jennifer and Jason are the best! Can’t wait to visit next year!

We are lone wolves & don't care for the stacked on top of each other like most campgrounds. This is ideal if you want solitude & a beautiful place. The owners, Ken & Kathleen, were wonderful..outgoing personalities, educated us on the park history, gave us suggestions where to ride our dual sports bikes. We will go back quite often now that we have found a new haven.

Cardinal Ridge is like camping at a good friend’s home. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating. Your name is on a board welcoming you, and Kathy is there with a huge smile and a warm hug. We were luckily gifted some eggs from their chickens :) This is an adult only park which is a plus in our book. It is a small campground with 8 sites, 4 on the lower level and 4 on the higher level. There are two short, steep grades to get to upper level. We got stuck going up the second one and had to back down and try again. Good advice- get up a good head of speed and go for it! It would be nice if the steep part of the road were paved. The interior roads are gravel, and the sites are gravel/grass. The upper sites have a lots of separation and amazing mountain views. The lower sites are closer together and still have good views. Some of the sites on the lower level would require running the utilities under a motorhome to get the best view. WII FI was slow but Verizon had good coverage so we used our hotspot. Directv satellite worked fine. Water pressure was low around 30 so we used the water pump to shower, do laundry, etc. Oddly, you can hear some traffic noise from 441. Mostly a background droning with the occasional semi. (I have dog whistle ears so it may not even be noticeable to some people.) It is quiet at night though and very dark! We will definitely return.
