We enjoyed staying here, pretty quiet considering there is a boat ramp. It was a a donation only campground but starting August 1, 2020 there is a 15.00 a night fee.

Beautiful lake side camping with level sites, mowed grass, respectful neighbors, bathroom, and small group picnic pavilion. Easy to navigate road and driveway, and there were plenty or available spots when I showed up around 9:30 on a weekday morning. No utilities or trash so come prepared.

Still a great location surrounded by birch trees which help add some semblance of privacy between the close spaces. Long enough individual lots, most have their own picnic table & fire pit. It's about 25 min away from the West Yellowstone entrance. The quiet road around Henry's lake is perfect for a walk or bike ride too! Keep in mind, if you need a dump station, the one in Ashton ID is the best since it is the closest one with water. (no trash cans tho). Our neighbors were very friendly, offering to share their fire pit with us since our spot didn't have one. Do bring bug spray tho, the mosquitoes are small but they are fast little suckers!

Not our favorite place yet. Much more like an actual campground with neighbors right on top of each other and lots of bugs. The lake and boat ramp were cool. It was much quieter than we expected so overall a nice enough place. A donation is suggested to help with upkeep

I checked the app and saw that this wasn’t too far away and crossed my fingers and toes we could get a spot at our ETA of 4pm. We pulled in after a beautiful drive over the north side of the lake and there were plenty of open spots! Each has its own table and fire pit. No swimming sadly, but the lake is beautiful to look at! The pit toilets are some of the cleanest I have ever seen. This place is great and I’ll be telling lots of family members to check it out!

Stunningly beautiful lake
Paved road up to the campground which has trees at both of the long sides leading to the lake.
Folks have to register but it’s free.
All the campsites were rather standard, they were level and it was quite quiet. Boat ramp, group shelter and public rest rooms at the end. (We didn’t make use of any of them.)
One of the best things is that this fabulous lake was only 27 miles from West Yellowstone.
We didn't even try to use cell coverage as so we don't know how it was.

We staked out a bunch of different camping options in the Island Park area as a landing place to explore Yellowstone, and Bill Frome was the winner. Targhee Creek Trailhead was a very small space to camp, Red Rock Pass was crowded and right on a main road, and Henry's Lake BLM (not on campendium I don't think, only on freecampsites.net at current) was beautiful but there was a bad rut going down to the camp areas that our trailer wouldn't have been able to handle. So Bill Frome it was!
The area is neatly divided into back-in campsites with a picnic bench and fire pit, and there are pit toilets at the end down by the lake (no swimming, but nice to sit out on the docks and enjoy sunset). We chose a spot that had good tree dividers on both sides so it was very private. The area is surrounded by cow pastures. Easy in, easy out, no rough roads or awkward navigation to contend with. Nice and quiet.
Unboosted, AT&T was useable. Verizon signal was there but tower overload prevented it from being very useable, so our cell booster wasn't of help.
About a 20-30 minute drive to West Yellowstone, MT and the park entrance.
