We only stayed one night. Pads are narrow but worked for our smaller camper. Used a full hookup site. Sites are clean. We stayed mid April which is still off season and the place was nearly empty and very quiet, which was nice. We would return but Not in summer and packed with people and children

Sites have little to no screening between them. People working on RVs, practicing archery (!) - generally noisy. Hiking trails not maintained. Coming in from I-70, make sure your GPS is set to the Visitor Center else you may overshoot.

Host scolded us for no reservations though camp half empty (is this because they loose the added 6.50 transaction fees)
Avoided staying on our return trip.

Hi so I came to bark camp because I know state parks fireworks arent allowed . When I called they said I wouldnt hear any and I don't need to worry so I booked the week of the 4th. Well July 1 is one belmont city did there fireworks and sure enough you could hear them through the camper and I had to drug my dog and I suffer from ptsd. The following day we went to the beach and while driving in the parking lot someone shot a firework off a few ft from my car and we drove off. No fireworks are allowed in the park.need less to say all week/weekend you can hear fireworks from the neighboring properties. And they put me on a spot infested with ants and didn't call me back when I asked to move ! Was not happy about this trip but it is pretty.

Pulled in late for just overnight. Full service sites were full. We only needed electric. No one in our loop. Site 135. Only bad thing no pull this. We are trailing a car and did not want to drop it. Some TV and good cell service. Had to call RA for site after picked one.

We stayed for two nights at site 141 in Loop C. The grounds were very well kept and our fellow campers and hosts were very friendly. We had an issue with our 50-amp breaker tripping after a storm and the maintenance staff were there and fixed it within 30 minutes. The parking spots are a bit narrow, but correctly annotated in their descriptions and plenty of room between sites to enjoy the outside without being on top of your neighbor. It was easily accessed from the highway, but incredibly quiet. The spot was mostly level with a nice fire pit and picnic table off to the side. We had some rain while there and tried to enjoy the outdoors, but the hiking trails were a bit overgrown and muddy, resulting in a pup with muddy paws and burrs in hi hair. We would definitely recommend this park for the nice sites and quiet, minus the occasional moos from the nearby farm.

The fall colors were so vibrant. The only negative, once again, not the fault of the park, but the inability to enjoy a nice fire on a chilly night without the constant barking of other campers’ dogs. I just don’t get it! But otherwise we had a great visit and would come back again.

Stayed one night on way back home. 1-2 miles off Hwy I-70 so no road noise. I came in on a Monday and most were camped in the lower numbers. I was back on 111. Still only a few were here and was quite pleasant.
Check in was a bit convoluted. Pulled up to office and nice lady came up (w/ CoVid mask on) saying they were not taking drive up stays. Had to call an 800 number so I did. After listening to a long recording of things I could care less about (CoVid, cancellations, using the internet to book my stay) I was on hold for a few minutes when another nice gal took my information and set me up with a site. They charge a $6.50 fee to do this. LOL ( Howabout just putting nice lady w/ mask behind counter with plastic desk shield?)
The nice lady heard me ask the gal on phone about filling my tank with water and she stepped up and said the station was straight ahead. I got to dump station and the sign said “Water Not Safe for Drinking”. What ? Ends up you have to drive around grounds looking for a brick drinking fountain which are on opposite side of road, and pull off so others can get past and fill up with your own hose.
Yes the asphalt pads are a little narrow. (Had to use blocks for my stairs because they extend beyond asphalt) But, the grounds were really pleasant. Sites are spaced about 25 yards apart w/ only picnic table in between. (See pics). No privacy but also not real close. Fire ring more towards the rear where I prefer. ABC and CBS TV stations come in strong. AT&T data down speed was 30mbps and up was almost 9. An AT&T hot spot would work real well here. Didn’t use any other facilities as I was self contained. Good place for the money. Just need a “typical State Park” check in process.

Very small sites and narrow road with little to no privacy. New sites in the teens looked nicer, but, are not being utilized for some reason.
