WIFI is fast and easy to connect. Store is well stocked. T-Mobile and AT&T both on the slow side but do work. Spaces are level. Plenty of bodies of water and mountains all around. Small pool and a few activities for the kids. Nearest towns about a 30 min drive. Very nice campground.

We fished in the lake, biked all through the park, played in the creek, spent some time in the game room and enjoyed sitting around the camp fire. The site we had backed right up to the beautiful, rushing creek that runs through one side of the park.

Well developed campground. Some long term residents, quite a few cabins also. Our site #161 was dead level. All the sites are gravel with paved drives and a sliver of grass between them. Some (like ours and the ones in front of us) are wide open full sun, while others like the 40s have trees around them and back up to a nice rocky creek. Nice store on site, if you can get to it before 5pm when it closes. When we first pulled up we thought the previous tenant had a small dog that left presents everywhere, we soon realized that it's the 50+ geese and ducks that 'go' everywhere - grass, gravel, paved drives... everywhere. There's a nice cable jack on the power post but apparently, they no longer have cable. The wifi was ok, during the day, at night, it was much slower and often unusable—probably with everyone streaming because there's no cable. We could only get 1 bar of AT&T 4G/LTE.

The staff is so helpful and friendly, the campground and surrounding area are beautiful, and the amenities at the campground are very nice. There is a pool, mini-golf, paddle boats, fishing, basketball, playgrounds, etc. Lots to do for the whole family! Some of the sites are very close together, but we really liked our site #7 which was in a different section of the park away from the main area that gets crowded on the weekends. We are a fulltime RV family and don't usually stay somewhere for so long, but due to COVID this year we had to cancel a lot of our plans. I was very thankful we ended up here, it was the perfect place for us to stay put for awhile, and it wasn't too hot in the summer months. The only bad thing is the very poor cell coverage. Since we work remotely, we need internet and cell coverage. We have unlimited data plans with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile to make sure we're covered in most places in the country. All 3 worked at this park, but were extremely slow and sometimes unusable. The park WiFi helped fill in the gaps when our cell carriers weren't working, but even that was pretty slow most of the time. But if you are coming to camp and don't care about cell coverage, this place is the perfect get away!

Bald Mountain Camping Resort in Hiawassee is one of our favorite campgrounds. Ever.
It is a family park with all of the amenities you could want. Plenty of space, full hookups, loads of activities, a pool (summer) and breathtaking scenery. It is located in the shadow of Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point, just outside the town of Hiawassee on Lake Chatuge. Nearby are the Bavarian Town of Helen, the tourist mecca of Blue Ridge, and the apple orchards of Ellijay. The North GA Fairgrounds are in Hiawassee as well and the Cabbage Kids Nursery is not too far away. On the way to Helen you will cross the Appalachian trail. Hiking in this area generally is top notch. Loads of great scenery, wildlife and waterfalls.
The park is a bit out of town and the roads are curvy, but we did get our 38ft 5'er here no problem. Any size rig will make it. Come in from the east- DO NOT try to come north from Helen.
This park is absolutely fantastic for a family stay- especially during leaf peeping. You won't be disappointed!
