We took our fifth wheel down here and got a spot right on the water. It was a great place to stay for a couple nights, we probably would’ve stayed longer but we had RV park reservations at Tucannon River RV park. Our sure was so nice we actually debated about arriving late but it was too close to our reservation time and we would have lost $. Trains come by a couple of times a day, but we stayed at the far end of the park so they weren’t really that noisy. Recommend it.

This Corps of Enginieers campground is not heavily trafficked at all, you’ll have quite a bit of privacy. The road getting in has some potholes but is not too bad at all, big rigs could make it for sure. The area has a bay/pond with fish, ducks and beavers and there are small hiking trails all around to the little mesas nearby. We saw deer, hawks and other wildlife while we were out here. The place is separated from the Snake River by a Hill and a railroad track so you can’t see the big river from the camping, but it’s a short walk over and a fun area to explore. The train seems to come by every few hours and they shouldn’t have to honk since there is no road crossing nearby, however 1 of the 2 trains we saw did honk at us and that was loud.
The area doesn’t have water but it does have a pit toilet that is nice as clean and stocked with plenty of TP (when we were here, April 1st). You are allowed to stay free for 14 days. Apparently there is a COE Ranger that comes by to check things out occasionally, which is nice, gives you a bit of security.
Rhetta would stay here again
